Bring your attention to your breath,
No need to change it,
Just noticing the quiet rhythm of breathing in and breathing out,
Breathing in and breathing out,
Breathing in and breathing out.
The body is remembering something it's forgotten,
And breathing in,
And this time we sigh out.
So your jaw softens,
Space around your eyes soften,
And again we breathe in,
And we sigh out.
Imagine for a moment you're standing beside a quiet lake,
The surface of the water may have ripples,
Little movements across the top,
But beneath the surface the lake is still.
Our mind can be like those ripples,
Those thoughts moving across the surface of awareness,
But the deeper part of you,
The quiet presence underneath is not disturbed by them.
So take another breath in,
And sigh out.
So another breath in,
And this time as you breathe out,
Imagine those ripples slowly settling,
Slowly calming.
It's not out of force,
But because the water naturally just returns to stillness.
We're like that too.
Our bodies,
They know how to settle.
We only need to give the body a moment,
And it will.
So one more time,
Breathe in,
And breathe out.
And carry this peace with you into your day.
