I Can Afford... A Gratitude Practice

This is a guided meditation created to remind you that you can afford anything that you are open to receiving. This was inspired by an Insight Timer Livestream that I did in June 2021. It touched many of those who attended and decided to turn it into a meditation. I hope this meditative journey allows you to remember just how abundant you are.

Hello and welcome to this guided meditation.

I am so grateful for you being here today.

Thank you so much for allowing me to be your guide on this journey.

This meditation was created to remind you that you can afford anything that you are open to receiving.

So before we begin this meditation,

Take this time now just to settle yourself and to get into a comfortable position that could be lying down or sitting down,

Whichever is the most comfortable for you.

And now that you are in a comfortable position,

Just go ahead and close your eyes and just begin to take some nice,

Slow,

Deep breaths.

Inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth.

And continue to breathe this way.

Inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth.

And with each exhale,

I just want you to release all your fears.

Breathe out the limiting beliefs,

The negative thoughts,

And just allow your mind to be free,

To be open,

To be clear as you continue to breathe.

In through your nose and out through your mouth.

And I want you to take a moment and think of something that you would really love to have,

But you feel as if you cannot afford it.

Just take a moment and think of that thing.

Visualize it.

See it in your mind's eye.

And I want you to take a moment and just notice.

Notice if you are feeling any tension anywhere in your body.

Just notice it and sit with it and continue to breathe.

Inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth.

And if any emotion is stirred within you in this time,

Allow the tears to fall and continue to breathe.

In through your nose and exhaling through your mouth.

Now I want you to release that image and still notice where in your body you might have felt any tension and continue to breathe.

Now I want you to take a moment and think of a moment,

A person,

A place,

A thing,

Anything that stirs up a feeling of gratitude within you.

Think of that thing and allow those emotions of gratitude to overtake you.

Feel that gratitude welling up within you and allow it to flow as you continue to breathe.

Inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth.

And as this feeling of gratitude continues to consume you and to overtake you,

If there are any emotions that come up,

Allow them to come.

Any tears of joy,

Any tears of gratitude.

If you feel yourself wanting to smile,

Allow that to happen now.

So I need you to hold on to that gratitude and breathe it into any areas of tension that you felt earlier.

Allow that gratitude to wash over you.

Allow that gratitude to dissolve that tension and continue to breathe.

Inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth.

And I want you to begin to give gratitude for the gratitude that you are already feeling as you recognize that gratitude is something that you can call on at any time.

Whenever you are feeling stressed out,

Whenever you are feeling scarcity,

Moments of lack,

Whenever you are feeling fear,

Know that gratitude is something that is available to you at all times.

I want you to think about that for a moment as you continue to breathe.

Recognizing that gratitude is something that is so powerful.

It has the power to change circumstances.

Gratitude has the power to heal.

And you have access to it at any time.

All you have to do is take a moment and call on gratitude.

Find moments,

Situations,

People,

Things in your life to be grateful for.

I just want you to think about how powerful that is as you continue to breathe.

All that power is available to you and you can afford it.

I want you to affirm right now,

I can afford it.

I want you to begin to think of all the other wide range of emotions that you have access to,

That you can afford,

That you can call on at any time.

Because often it's not the thing that we really truly want.

It's what feeling,

What emotion those things give us.

Is it a feeling of joy?

Is it a feeling of security?

Is it a feeling of happiness?

A feeling of love?

A feeling of acceptance?

Know that you have access to these feelings.

They are yours to call on at any time.

Isn't that powerful?

I just want you to take this moment as you continue to breathe,

Inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth.

Take this moment to have gratitude for this moment,

For this realization that you have access to all the emotions that you want to feel.

Have gratitude for that.

And begin to start thinking of all the amazing things that you have access to day to day.

The people in your life,

The moments in your life,

The hobbies that you have,

The passions that you have.

Take a moment to have gratitude for those things.

Isn't it amazing that you can afford the time to be here now?

To make time for yourself to connect to your truth.

To take time for yourself to remember that you can afford it.

You can afford this moment of peace.

You can afford this moment of mindfulness.

You can afford this moment of self-care.

Feel that gratitude and continue to breathe,

Inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth.

And just affirm,

I can afford it.

I can afford it.

Now just continue to breathe,

Inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth.

And I want you to start moving your hands,

Tingling your fingers,

Your toes.

As you come back to the present moment,

As you come back to now,

As you have gratitude for all that you can afford,

As you have gratitude for this moment.

And I want to say thank you again for allowing me to be your guide today.

I hope that this meditation has allowed you to change your perspective on what you can afford.

Whenever you feel a moment of lack,

A moment of scarcity,

A moment of fear,

A moment of stress or struggle,

Just remember all the wonderful emotions that you have access to,

That you can afford.

You are truly blessed.

Enjoy your day and I look forward to meditating with you again.
