Discover Your Dharma - Your Life's Purpose
We all want to know our life’s purpose, we all want to make sense, to feel that we are doing what we love, to come back home and have a feeling of fulfillment. But what is it about this so-called life’s purpose? How can one understand and know “this is my call”? In ancient traditions, it is also referred to as Dharma, your mission on this earth, your soul’s mission. We constantly overlook our most precious qualities. It can be hidden in places we would never look.

Hello,
My name is Heidi Emiseker and today I will guide you through a meditation to find your life's purpose.
It's also called Dharma.
Dharma is an important Buddhist and yogi concept,
Referring to a law or a principle which governs the universe.
For an individual to live out their Dharma is for them to act in accordance with this law.
Dharma is a Sanskrit word and it comes from the root,
Dr.
Dr means to hold,
Maintain,
To preserve or to keep.
So the implication of Dharma is that there is a right or a true way for each person to carry out their lives in order to serve both themselves and others.
On an individual level,
Dharma refers to your personal mission in this world.
And according to the Bhagavad Gita,
It is better to do your own Dharma poorly than to do another's well.
So it's quite important for each one of us to really find our Dharma,
Our true life's mission or purpose.
And as the root says of this word,
Dr,
There is something that is within us held or maintained or preserved or kept that actually gives clues about what our true purpose is.
In one of the Upanishads they explain the following.
You are what your deepest wishes are.
And according to your wishes,
Your will will be developed.
And from your will and your will power,
You will develop your actions.
Your wishes and your dreams are that which makes you feel alive and unique.
It is one of the strongest creative energies within us.
Consider these wishes like seeds within you,
And like the seed for instance of a tree,
This seed holds all the information to become a big tree.
So let's focus on these seeds.
The moment you start to see your seeds within you,
Your true quality,
That means you bring them into the light,
You water them,
Then they will start to grow.
They need attention to grow.
And attention means they need love,
They need light and water.
How can we connect to these deep seeds or wishes?
And for me meditation is one of the best tools to dig deep enough to find the true self,
To find these seeds placed within yourself,
Which is your true purpose in life,
Which is your Dharma.
So please choose a comfortable seat and close your eyes.
And first let's just exhale.
And maybe with this exhale you can release all the concepts you have so far about yourself.
And when you release them you will realize that many of these concepts or ideas you have about yourself are not even from yourself,
But they stem from maybe your parents or your siblings or your teachers.
Just release them.
You are not what other people say you are.
You are what you are.
So let's connect to our true and deepest essence.
And for that I want you to focus on the area of your navel and solar plexus.
That is the area of the third chakra,
The third energy field.
And this energy field is called Manipura chakra.
The meaning of Manipura means city of jewels.
And the way I look at it is that there is a city of jewels and gems.
And this represents all the skills and all the talents you have received in this incarnation.
So see kind of like a bunch of jewels in front of you,
In your inner eye,
And start to name them.
What are your skills?
Which are your talents?
What comes so naturally to you that might be harder for others?
What do you love doing?
And from what do you generate joy?
So all these skills are given to you to offer to this world.
And it is the first step that you recognize them,
That you name them.
So after this meditation please take a moment to write them down for yourself.
Or make even a drawing of all these gems and jewels and name them.
So you maybe find that you like cooking.
Or you are into writing.
Or researching.
Maybe you like clean and organized surfaces.
Or singing.
Or maybe you are good with numbers,
Just flows easily for you.
Maybe you are a good connector,
Connecting people,
Connecting the right people at the right time with each other.
Or maybe you like to find solutions.
Solutions where for other people it is hard to find,
But for you it comes just naturally.
So these are some of the skills and qualities and gifts people receive.
You receive.
And sometimes they are overlooked because they might seem so normal.
And yes for you they are really normal because they come naturally.
But they are gifts and skills to share in this world.
So ponder for a while just on your most natural gifts and skills.
To feel and see them.
And remember seeing them means bringing them into the light,
Nurture them,
Water them,
Love them.
When you have recognized them and loved them long enough it is time for you for the second step.
The second step is to share.
To share with others.
To spread your gifts and qualities.
So let's take cooking.
You like to cook for yourself and you enjoy eating also.
But it is not so interesting just to cook for oneself.
It is more fun and interesting to cook also for others.
So go out and share your gift.
To give you another example,
Yes you may be good with numbers and it comes easily to you.
And then you have a friend,
You observe them or him or she that they have problems with finances.
So why don't you offer them a time and say I can organize,
I can help you a little bit,
I can show you how you can organize your finances better.
So that at the end of the month there is something left.
So you make like a budget with them.
You share your gift.
You help,
You share.
And the more you share it,
The more fulfillment and joy you will generate in your life.
What does really generate joy in your life?
Ask yourself this question.
Then start doing more of what generates joy in your life.
And doing things that generate joy in your life is like food,
Is like nurturing your soul.
And nurturing your soul means fulfillment.
You will feel fulfilled.
We all have the right to be fulfilled,
To be happy,
To experience joy.
It is also so that your life's purpose doesn't need to be your career or your career doesn't need to be your life's purpose.
So first you start really to feel inside of you what these gifts are,
Where you generate joy and fulfillment.
Then you start to share it and increase that joy and fulfillment through the sharing.
And slowly over time this can become your profession or your career.
But it doesn't need to be.
Start with small steps.
And after each step really feel the fulfillment.
Feel the joy.
And then the task for yourself is to increase that joy for yourself through the sharing.
And by doing so,
Universe will naturally guide you into your flow of life.
And the flow of life is just another word for Dharma.
So,
Whenever you have a chance to swim in a river,
Do so.
To feel what it means to swim in the flow of life.
Yes you can make choices.
You can swim to the borders and get out again and you can jump in again.
Anytime you can jump into your flow of life and come out again.
And when you're in,
It is amazing.
You will feel great.
You don't want to get out there anymore.
You just want to continue in that flow of life.
Which is your true life's purpose.
Thank you for meditating with me.
Be blessed and enjoy your life.
Namaste.
