Adam Goodwin

Adam Goodwin is a musician, composer, visual artist and meditation guide. He is deeply interested in the connections between spirituality and music, and has conducted years of independent research across many different cultures and musical traditions related to this theme. Goodwin believes that music has a powerful healing potential – physically, mentally and spiritually – and aims to embody this belief in his own artistic and spiritual practice. In addition to being an active musician and composer across many different genres, he regularly leads meditation sessions in which live music is used as the catalyst for entering states of deep contemplation. He leads “Sonic Meditation Sessions” in person at temples, homes and outdoors, featuring live performances of instrumental music mixed with recordings of the natural world. He has also released numerous solo albums and singles related to themes of deep listening and meditation, and often gives durational solo performances with the aim of producing meditative and trance-like states. He has been a practitioner of meditation for more than 25 years, and has deeply studied many different religious and spiritual practices, including Mahayana Buddhism, Taoism, early Christian monasticism and Hinduism. Aside from music and meditation, he is an avid hiker, backpacker and environmental activist, and enjoys spending lengthy periods of time alone in wilderness areas and natural parks.
