ACIM Lesson 317 Contemplation

"I follow in the way appointed me."
This lesson emphasizes that each of us has a unique role to play in God's plan for salvation. Until we accept and fulfill this role, we remain bound by time and human destiny, but once we willingly follow the path appointed to us, we recognize that salvation is already present and available to all. The lesson encourages us to choose God's way, which is certain and secure, leading us to a place where all sorrows end in the loving embrace of our Father.

Lesson 317.

I follow in the way appointed me.

I have a special place to fill.

I have a role for me alone.

Salvation waits until I take this part as what I choose to do.

Until I make this choice,

I am the slave of time.

Until I make this choice,

I am a slave to human destiny.

When I willingly and gladly go the way my father's clan appointed me to go,

Then will I recognize salvation is already here.

Salvation is already given to all my brothers and sisters,

And salvation is already mine as well.

Your way is what I choose today.

Where your way leads me,

Do I choose to go.

Father,

What your way would have me do,

I choose to do.

Your way is certain.

The end is secure.

Father,

The memory of you awaits me there.

All my sorrows end in your embrace,

Which you have promised to me.

I had thought mistakenly that I had wandered from the sure protection of your loving arms.

I have a special place to fill.
