A Course in Miracles Lesson 257 Let me remember what my purpose is.
If I forget my goal,
I can only be confused.
Unsure of what I am,
I can only be conflicted in my actions.
No one can serve contradicting goals and serve them well.
No one can function with conflicting goals without deep distress and great depression.
Let us therefore be determined to remember what we want today,
So that we may unify our thoughts and our actions meaningfully.
Let us remember our goal to achieve only what God would have us do this day.
Father,
Forgiveness is your chosen means for our salvation.
Father,
Let us not forget today that we can have no will but yours.
Father,
Let us not forget today that our purpose must be yours as well.
Father,
Let us not forget that we want to reach the peace you will for us today.
If I forget my goal,
I can only be confused.
If I forget my goal,
I can only be unsure of what I am.
If I forget my goal,

I cannot serve contradicting goals and serve them well.
I cannot function with conflicting goals without deep distress,
Without great depression.
I am determined to remember what I want today.
I am determined to unify my thoughts and my actions meaningfully.

Father,
Let me not forget that I want to reach the peace you will for me today.
Let me remember what my purpose is.
Nothing real can be threatened.
Nothing unreal exists.
Herein lies the peace of God.
