ACIM Lesson 246 Contemplation

"To love my Father is to love His Son."
This lesson emphasizes that loving God inherently involves loving His creation, including all our brothers and sisters as well as ourselves. It teaches that we cannot find our way to God if we harbor hatred in our hearts, as any form of attack or diminishment towards God's Children prevents us from truly knowing God or our Higher Self. The lesson encourages us to recognize and release any "little bits of hatred" we may hold, choosing instead to love God's Son (which includes everyone) as a deliberate act of will, which is simultaneously a choice for God and for our Higher Self.

A Course in Miracles, Lesson 246 To love my father is to love his children. Let me not think that I can find the way to God if I have hatred in my heart. Let me not try to hurt God's children and think that I can know our Father more myself. Let me not fail to recognize myself and still believe that my awareness can contain my Father. Let me not fail to recognize myself and still believe that my mind can conceive of all the love my Father has for me. Let me not fail to recognize myself and still believe that my mind can conceive of all the love which I return to God. Father, I will accept the way you choose for me to come to you. In your chosen way, Father, I will succeed because it is your will. Father, I would recognize that what you will is what I will as well, And only that. And so, Father, I choose to love your children.
