We are now ready for another review. Repeat the exercise if you find your mind wandering, but try to spend the major part of the time listening quietly but attentively. There is a message waiting for you. Do not allow your intent to waver in the face of distracting thoughts. Realize that, whatever form such thoughts may take, they have no meaning and no power. Replace them with your determination to succeed.

Welcome to Active Meditation,

A Course in Miracles,

Lesson 148.

Review Lessons 135 and 136.

Begin each day by opening your mind,

Clearing it of all thoughts that would deceive.

Let this thought alone engage your mind fully and remove the rest of your thoughts.

My mind holds only what I think.

My mind holds only what I think.

Let each idea which you review today give you the gift that God has laid in it for you to have.

My mind holds only what I think with God.

Let's review Lesson 135.

Say in your mind,

If I defend myself,

I am attacked.

If I defend myself,

I am attacked.

Spend some time appreciating the meaning that these words contain for you.

If I defend myself,

I am attacked.

Don't add any other thoughts.

Just let these thoughts be the messages they are.

If I defend myself,

I am attacked.

Let each word shine with the meaning God has given it,

As it was given to you through God's voice.

If I defend myself,

I am attacked.

Let each idea we review today give you the gift that God has laid in it for you.

If I defend myself,

I am attacked.

Lesson 136.

Review.

Say to yourself,

Say in your mind,

Slowly,

Sickness is a defense against the truth.

Spend a quiet moment with these words.

Sickness is a defense against the truth.

See the gift,

The meaning the words contain for you.

Let them be received as they were meant to be.

Sickness is a defense against the truth.

Sickness is a defense against the truth.

Don't add no other thoughts to them,

But let these thoughts be the messages that they are.

Sickness is a defense against the truth.

Each day of practicing,

As we review,

We close as we began.

Repeating the thought that is restoring the world,

Moving us from darkness to the light,

From grief to joy,

Moving us from pain to peace,

From sin to holiness.

My mind holds only what I think with God.

If I defend myself,

I am attacked.

Sickness is a defense against the truth.

Nothing real can be threatened.

Nothing unreal exists.

Herein lies the peace of God.

Thanks for this review. Does “if I defend myself I am attacked” mean I should not defend myself..? Thank you 🙏🏽. Happy 2025 and beyond!
