A lovely way to start your day and get yourself going by setting a goal of intention! Create space and time for yourself each day with this morning's practice. Feel the benefits of starting your day in a calm and relaxed fashion, so that you can achieve the things you need to do. Good morning and welcome to the new day.

Just take a moment now to stretch and yawn and move your body in a welcome and relaxing way to make your body aware,

To make your mind aware of this fresh start to your new day.

You may choose to start this meditation lying down in your bed or sitting up.

You may already be sitting up in a chair.

No matter where you are or choose to be,

Just allow yourself to be relaxed and calm in whatever position you are,

Whatever is right for you.

So let's start by taking a few deep breaths in through the nose and out through the mouth.

In through the nose and out through the mouth.

And on your next breath in through the nose,

Just hold for a split second and then release out through the mouth with a lovely sigh.

Remember this is your time.

Time for you to be relaxed.

Time for you to allow the mind to be quiet.

Your day has just begun and you can allow yourself this space,

This time to slowly welcome in your day.

You may have a full day ahead planned,

Maybe at work or maybe at home and that's okay.

By giving yourself this time right here and right now,

You're allowing that space and time for you.

Some people struggle to find that time or to make that time thinking that it's selfish,

Thinking of themselves.

However,

When we realize how important it is to have this time to regain balance and make time for ourselves,

We realize sooner or later that actually everyone around us benefits too.

Because when you are looking after yourself,

When you're giving yourself that space and that time,

Your needs are met.

And then of course you give out the best version of you.

So give yourself a moment to thank yourself for placing importance on you.

Allow feelings of love for yourself to grow.

You are becoming your own best friend,

A friend that is always there for you and a friend who will never tire of looking after you.

So take some really deep breaths now,

Connecting with you,

Filling your lungs with this beautiful morning air,

Being thankful for this time,

Thankful for yourself.

This time is for you to connect with you,

To set yourself up for the day in a welcoming and relaxing way.

By connecting with yourself,

You can allow yourself that understanding that you are more strong and resilient than you once might have thought.

By committing to yourself,

By giving yourself this time,

You are allowing yourself to place importance on you and all that you do.

And as you relax in this way,

You may wish to pick one thing that you would like to achieve today.

It could be something that you've been putting off.

It could be something that has just come to mind.

Just allow your mind to wander now and pick one thing that would be good to address today.

One thing that now when you think of it,

You would like to be free from.

And ask yourself,

If you could begin to sort this thing today,

What would you need to do?

How long would it take?

And what time could you start?

And when you have answered all those questions,

Allow your mind to ponder on how good you will feel when you've begun the process and how good you will feel when the task is done.

And so as I allow you now some time to ponder on how good those feelings will feel,

You can allow your mind to build that wonderful image of completing that task,

Celebrating your wins.

And now how excitedly you can welcome in this new day.

So as I quiet down now,

You can allow the music to play.

And then when you're ready,

You can open your eyes.
