In this Vocal Yoga Class Series, I am going to guide you through simple sound exercises to release stress and come back to calm. This first practice is centered on Humming for relaxation. Please feel free to come back to this recording every time you feel it is of use to you. My approach to sound yoga is not traditional. It is based on intuitive sound practices and growing a personal relationship with sound, just like what we do with food. Sound is information and it has an effect on our body. Some sounds are relaxing, others don't resonate much. Some voices feel good and others don't. It is your own exploration of what feels good in your body that will allow you to put together your own vocal yoga routine, as you taste the frequencies and have a deeper knowing of your body, moment to moment. I'm a singer,

A meditation and a vocal yoga coach.

In this practice today,

We're going to bring your system to a state of relaxation using intuitive sound.

I invite you to take a deep breath in and to release.

Taking another deep breath in and releasing.

Pay attention to what's going on inside of your own body.

Let go of any tension in your muscles and allow your body to simply be.

As you breathe in and release,

I invite you to start humming following my lead.

Take a deep breath in.

Take a deep breath in and release.

Be with your body and feel the frequencies of this sound.

Pay attention to where you feel tingling,

Sensations,

Numbness or energy movement.

Anything that is signaling that your body is with you right now.

Let's do it again.

Keep humming this melody every time you want to relax.

Do it as much as you feel and as long as you feel.
