Today I went for a walk on the Molo Adache,
A pier located in Trieste,
Italy,
Which is where I currently live and where many people gather to enjoy the sunsets and the sea.
It's been a rather rainy day,
And while I normally don't like going out in the rain or walking in it,
I had to run a which I confess I was initially tempted to do.
I felt inspired to take a walk along the sea and out to the end of the pier's 200 meter walkway.
Except for one other person at the time,
The pier was completely empty,
Which added to the scene's dramatic and breathtaking view.
Although some may coin this a dreary day because it's overcast and raining,
For me the clouds in the sky and the waves in the sea were just beautiful and were something to be cherished.
Like the weather,
Which can change from one day or even one moment to the next,
Our moods can do the same and span a plethora of emotions like joy,
Sadness,
Delight,
Disappointment,
Excitement,
And so many others,
Some of which we'd rather not feel and push away.
But in doing so,
We keep them housed within the body and create a source of tension,
Dis-ease,
And stress.
In the rain,
In the overcast skies,
There was beauty.
And so too,
There is beauty in everything we feel when we let go of judgments about our feelings,
Accept where we are,
And appreciate the range of human emotions that we are gifted with,
Even those that might not feel good in the moment.
What if we just let ourselves be with what's there and then,
When the time is right,
Let go and let in the beauty that is beneath,
Around,
And within everything and everyone,
Including ourselves?
How would our lives be different?
Perhaps we would come to deepen our understanding,
Love,
And appreciation for ourselves and,
In doing so,
Be more likely to extend the same to others and live with greater peace,
Joy,
And ease.
Today,
I invite you to be open to whatever emotions you may be feeling and,
Like the clouds and the sky,
Welcome and observe them and then let them pass by.
And when you're ready,
Open to the beauty within and around you.
And,
If you like,
Write your feelings down and what they may be telling you.
Wishing you a most wonderful,
Wonderful day.
