Hi,
This is Teresa Conte and welcome to Day 20 of 30 Days of Gratitude to Inspire and Uplift You.
Today,
I'd like to start by sharing a quote from Oprah Winfrey.
She said,
The more you praise and celebrate your life,
The more there is in life to celebrate.
And now,
A thought to ponder.
What we put our attention on grows.
The more we focus on the good things in our lives,
The more of them we see,
And the more we have to celebrate.
For instance,
Have you ever thought of wanting something that you hadn't seen much of before,
And then once you set your intention,
You see that thing everywhere?
Here's another example.
Let's say someone wants a new car.
We'll make it a BMW convertible.
Why not?
And then all of a sudden,
That person sees that car everywhere when they hadn't seen many of them before.
It's not that there are necessarily more BMWs.
It's just that that person's attention is now open to seeing what's already there.
I think we've all had similar experiences.
For today's practice,
I invite you to begin by setting an intention for what you want to see more of.
For instance,
What would make your life more pleasing and enjoyable?
Once you set your intention,
Take the actions that align with it,
Even if it's simply noticing what feels good.
For instance,
If you've been feeling a little lonely,
Notice when you feel cared about.
It doesn't have to be anything extraordinary.
It could even be something as simple as a stranger smiling at you.
Then allow the good feelings to sink down inside of you.
If you'd like to have more fun,
Perhaps watch a good movie or go out and listen to music,
If that's your thing.
If you want to feel more connected to your community,
Perhaps go for a walk in your neighborhood and talk with some of your neighbors.
Or invite a neighbor you'd like to get to know better over for coffee or tea.
Acknowledge yourself for the actions you take and remember to let the good feelings in.
What do you want to see more of?
Set your intention,
Then be open to the experience and praise it.
Wishing you a most wonderful day.
