I'm Brianna,
And thank you for joining me for another guided meditation.
Today's meditation was inspired by the 2020 presidential election and all the stress anxiety that it might be causing many people.
Now let's begin.
Start by taking a deep breath in.
Now exhale.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
As you continue breathing,
Close your eyes if you're comfortable and bring to mind all the uncertainty that this election has brought you.
How does that make you feel?
Can you pinpoint it?
Can you name it?
If you can say the emotion out loud and release that feeling from inside of your body.
And continue breathing.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Again,
Inhale.
And exhale.
It's 2020 and we have lost so much.
George Floyd,
Breonna Taylor,
Manuel Elijah Ellis.
We're angry.
We're numb.
We're heartbroken.
So many things have changed.
People are dying alone.
Women are having children alone.
Never before have we felt so alone.
We're scared for our safety,
For our jobs.
We're scared to ride in our cars.
We're just scared.
And now we are in the presence of an election with so much uncertainty.
So what do we do?
Stop wherever you are.
Don't move.
Quiet your thoughts.
Ground yourself in the present moment and just be still.
Relax your face.
Unclench your jaw.
Drop your shoulders and relax.
Now get ready to repeat these affirmations after me.
I am exactly where I need to be right now.
I can only do what I can as calmly as I can.
I am too positive to be doubtful.
I am too optimistic to be fearful.
I believe that all things work together for my good.
There are positive outcomes I am not yet aware of.
I surrender to a greater plan beyond my understanding.
Listen friend.
It's okay to be scared.
It's okay to be nervous.
It's okay to feel whatever it is that you feel.
But in this moment,
I want to encourage you to shake that feeling off.
Let go of whatever it is that you cannot control.
In this moment,
Choose to focus on you.
The actions that you took,
The efforts that you made,
Focus on you doing the very best that you could.
Continue breathing deeply and slowly to your own pace.
As you inhale and exhale,
In this moment,
Speak aloud all the things that you are hopeful for.
Speak aloud the names of all the people you are fighting for.
Know that your efforts are not in vain.
Then one last time repeat after me.
My efforts are being supported by a force greater than myself.
Once it is 1414,
The Lord will fight for you.
You need only to be still.
When you're ready,
Open your eyes.
Stretch your arms to the sky.
Wiggle your fingers in your toes and rejoin us in consciousness.
Take a deep breath in,
Exhale and set an intention on how you will choose to move forward after this election.
