Welcome to the exhale space.

Autumn is here.

As we let go of summer,

The nights draw in and the leaves are turning.

We can all pause and take a lesson from nature on how to let go.

Sit back or lie down in a comfortable position.

Shut your eyes and begin by taking a deep breath in.

Notice the feeling of air filling your lungs and hold for just a few seconds.

Release the breath slowly and let the tension leave your body.

Take another deep breath in.

Hold.

And again slowly release the air.

Release the breath and imagine the feeling of tension leaving your body.

Now bring into awareness a story,

A situation,

A memory,

Or a feeling that you have been debating if it is time to let it go.

Visualize yourself in a serene scene from nature during the fall.

Picture the reds,

The browns,

The darker greens,

And yellows of the terrain surrounding you.

Imagine the cool breeze blowing and the dryness of the air against your neck.

Notice that as the winds blow,

Some leaves may fall.

Notice how the trees simply release the dead things in its life without fighting it,

Without trying to change it,

But recognizing that what's meant to be will be and what is designed to remain will remain.

Now ask yourself,

Is it wise to release this past experience that you are holding on to?

The story,

The situation,

The feeling,

Or the memory?

Ask yourself,

How is this serving me?

When you replay the memory in your mind,

Gently name the feeling that's associated with it.

Is it betrayal?

Is it sadness?

Is it anxiety?

Is it confusion?

Or maybe even pain?

Allow the feelings,

The space just to be,

To float without resistance.

Because see,

When we hold on to things too tightly,

They never have the chance to run its course.

And part of this lesson in letting go is understanding that our feelings are not only real,

But that our feelings are meant to guide us through a journey,

To teach us a lesson.

And they can only do that if you allow them the space to just be.

And as you feel this feeling,

Again ask yourself,

Is this serving me?

Would it be wise to release this experience and let it go?

And as you continue to inhale and exhale,

Say to your self gently over and over,

Let go.

Soften your body and your heart and let any feelings that arise drain out of you into the earth.

Inhale a new sense of being,

Of freedom,

Of contentment.

Release any frustrations,

Fears,

And heartaches.

Let them drain out of you like water draining out of a tub,

Like water flowing down the stream,

Or like the leaves falling from the trees.

Feel the space that comes to you as you exhale and you let go.

Embrace the emptiness that is in your heart,

But know it's not a void.

It's a new space,

A new opportunity to fill yourself up with those things in which you deserve.

Now direct your mind to envision the future,

Where not only is this feeling released,

But that you have welcomed into your life all the things in which you feel you deserve.

Continue to visualize the scene of nature,

Of trees,

Red,

Brown,

And green.

Say to yourself,

Say out loud,

What exactly is it that you feel that you deserve?

Make it clear,

Make it plain,

And all the things that don't fit that version of you,

Let them go.

Be aware that you are about to embark on an inward journey and as you prepare to release the things that have kept you bound.

Remember,

You will only be light enough to continue into the next phase when you release the things that are causing you to be heavy.

Take a deep breath in.

Hold.

And exhale.

Repeat the cycle until you are ready to return to consciousness.

Slowly inhale.

Hold.

And exhale.

And now repeat after me.

I am free.

I have the ability to let go.

And the freedom to attract all the things that I deserve.

Continue to breathe softly.

And identify the new feelings that you may feel.

Allow them the space to be,

To float without resistance,

And to hold in your heart with compassion.

Thank you.

Thank you.

Thank you.

And I hope that you've embraced this lesson of letting go.
