In this short meditation,
We're setting the intention for the day.
Today,
We're going to work on improving emotional intelligence.
Emotional intelligence is all about knowing how to control your emotions.
Just for today,
I will take an objective view of my emotions,
And witness them in a way that is like someone other than myself.
I shall notice my emotions and sit with them before I react.
I understand that because I have an emotion does not mean I need to act on it immediately.
In fact,
My emotions are mine,
And they can stay hidden and secret if I want.
That can be very beneficial in certain situations.
My emotions are my responsibility.
My emotions can tell me an incredible amount of my environment and what is in store for me in this environment.
At other times,
My emotions create turmoil,
And they do no good for the situation.
Those are the times when I must control my energy system and command my inner environment.
I can notice how I feel and still get things done in a calm,
Professional manner.
I do not always need to say how I'm feeling.
Feelings are always there,
And they are very much like the tide.
They ebb and flow at different times of the day.
It's continuous and endless,
So I know my emotions will always be there,
And my job is to find a way to be serene.
I understand that a core emotion that stirs up other emotions is fear.
I know that at times,
My fear might create a big challenge for me.
Those are the times I'm very grateful that I was diligent in controlling my emotions and my inner environment.
It can be incredibly beneficial for me not to always display my emotions,
And at times,
It can save me from harm.
A poker face can be good sometimes.
Let it be so.
