We're going to start just with settling into the body.
Closing the eyes.
Can wiggle the shoulders,
Wiggle your butt,
Tap your feet,
Whatever you need so that you have an experience of being here in your seat or standing or lying down wherever you are.
Your body is here.
You're just feeling into the body and any place on the body that wants attention,
You can tell because your mind will go there.
You just become aware that that part of the body is calling you over.
And you can just listen for what it's saying.
Non-judgmental.
Loving,
Kind,
Curious awareness.
Having your posture be alert,
But not stiff.
Allowing the shoulders to drop from the ears,
Releasing the tongue from the roof of the mouth.
You might notice you just take a few deep breaths automatically.
Bringing awareness to any intention you might have.
Bring your awareness now to the breath.
Noticing how the lungs,
Your chest feels as it fills with air,
Empties of air,
What the belly feels like as it expands and contracts.
Noticing the sensations in the body of the breath.
Softening the eyes with a smile.
Breathing in through the smile.
Air you breathe,
Be smiled on.
Noticing how that feels in the body.
Now bringing to mind that happy place for you.
You could have been in a different place.
More than one.
But a place that's home,
A place where you find yourself.
Reliably experiencing safe.
Joy.
Comfort.
Could be in the arms of your lover or with your family or Any place where you find yourself.
Returned home.
Just sit with that experience.
Smile.
Notice how it feels in the body.
If you can hear the breath.
Hear my cat.
You can include the cat.
I certainly can hear my cat.
Notice how that experience of being home and safe and loved and cared for.
That feels in the body.
Where do you feel that in your body?
Does that experience in your body have a color or shape?
Weight or a texture?
Just feeling it in the body,
How it feels to be home,
To be safe,
To be loved.
As you appreciate that feeling.
Notice if it wants to slip into gratitude.
For the opportunity to have that experience.
Want to expand that experience of gratitude.
You can start zooming out to all the constitutive components that make that experience available.
Or you could just zero in on the actual experience for yourself.
Deepen the experience of gratitude within your heart.
The mind wanders.
Just come back to this feeling in the body.
Being where the water tastes like wine.
Imagine walking through your day with this vibration,
This feeling.
Picture yourself with this experience in the body moving through your day.
And when you're ready,
You can take a few more breaths.
Open your eyes.
Step into your day and here you are with that experience.
