Tonight we are going to talk about jealousy and what I call your own frequency.
Let us begin with jealousy.
Because it is felt first in the body.
That pinch when someone announces good news.
That split second of delay between your smile and your wish to smile.
That brief chill.
Very short.
Immediately covered over by the shame of having felt it.
You were taught that it was ugly.
So you hide it.
And then you blame yourself on top of it.
I invite you to look at this differently.
Jealousy says nothing about your worth.
And nothing either about what you lack.
It is a measuring instrument.
And a measuring instrument does not judge.
It indicates.
When something tightens in you in front of someone else's life.
Your body has just recognized a desire.
Nothing more.
Envy shows a direction.
It says that this matters to you.
A word now about this frequency,
Because the term can be confusing.
I am not talking about vibrations or spirituality.
I am talking about something very concrete.
Every material has a note of its own.
The one it produces when it is struck.
You have one too.
A way of feeling.
Choosing.
Preferring that belongs only to you.
Comparing yourself means listening to two sounds at the same time.
To decide which one is right.
By constantly straining to hear the note of others.
You end up no longer hearing your own.
Yours is still there.
Just as before.
There is simply too much noise on top of it.
Tonight we are going to turn the noise down.
This meditation,
I recommend that you practice it for at least 30 consecutive nights.
This is the time needed for your unconscious to absorb the content of this video.
And if you fall asleep during the practice.
Do not worry.
It is completely natural.
Your unconscious listens even while you sleep.
And continues to reprogram itself.
And now.
Settle into your bed.
The meditation will begin shortly.
Your eyes close at the end of this sentence.
Gently.
And comparisons leave with them.
Everything that a day puts before your eyes.
And that you immediately place next to your own life.
Now listen.
Somewhere in front of you.
A meter or two away.
There is a note.
A single one.
Held very soft.
Without beginning or end.
It was there before I told you about it.
It is placed at the height of your face.
And it does not move.
Listen to it.
There is nothing else to do tonight.
It is low and warm.
As if someone.
Very far away.
Were holding the same breath for you.
While you listen to it.
The rest leaves in layers.
The sounds of the house.
What was left of the day.
You spend your days listening to everyone else's notes.
There's just one.
And it asks nothing of you.
Let this note sink down into you.
Then settle yourself at the place that presses most heavily against the bed.
A shoulder.
A hip.
A heal.
Stay with that.
The warmth of your skin gathers there.
Place grows warm.
Than thick and distant.
This numbness spreads to everything touching the bed.
The shoulders.
The middle of the back.
Backs of the thighs.
The Heels.
Your back releases its weight.
Like a bag being set down.
It flows down into your hips.
Which open and settle.
Your thighs become too heavy to be lifted.
Your ankles lose their hold.
Your toes spread apart.
Come back to the breath.
It comes in.
It goes out.
And no one is taking care of it.
With every exhalation.
Something descends.
It passes through your belly.
A knot tightens there in the evening.
When a screen lights up and someone else's day appears on it.
Warmth settles in.
And the knot loosens by one turn.
The hollow beneath your ribs widens.
Your ribcage opens with each incoming breath.
The warmth flows into your arms.
The elbows unbend.
The wrists give in.
The palms fill up.
It rises through the nape of the neck.
Which lengthens.
Your throat clears.
It pinches there when good news comes from someone else.
Your jaw slides downward.
Your tongue rests.
Your cheeks lose their hold.
And the area around your eyes relaxes.
These eyes spend the day counting what others have.
Your eyelids grow heavier.
Your forehead widens.
The breath.
Again.
It has lengthened while I was speaking.
Feel all of this together.
Your whole body settling down.
From heel to nape.
It becomes a warm,
Thick volume.
Resting without the slightest effort.
Completely relaxed.
It has stopped measuring itself against anything at all.
And allows itself to be carried.
And now.
Allow your unconscious to open.
Simply give it permission.
And it opens.
Like a string that once plucked.
Keeps vibrating long after the gesture.
And now.
Imagine a bamboo grove at the end of a summer's day.
Thousands of green stalks.
Straight.
So dense that you lose sight of their tops.
The light descends from far above and by the time it reaches you,
It has turned green.
And it shines on your forearms.
And the backs of your hands.
The air is mild.
It smells of sap and warm dust.
Under your feet.
The ground is thick with dry leaves.
It yields and it crackles under each step.
And everywhere this noise.
The stalks seek each other in touch.
They rasp.
They smack.
They sound hollow whenever two of them collide.
Each one has its own length and its own age.
So each has its own sound.
Stay for a moment.
The noise comes from everywhere at once.
A note starts off on your left.
You follow it.
Another rises on the right and takes you somewhere else.
You return to the first,
It has already changed.
There is one behind you.
Another very high up.
You turn your head.
You chase after them.
And you spend a long time at it.
A leaf spins down in front of you and lands without a sound.
Then you stop.
Because the body has understood before the head.
No one can follow thousands of sounds at once.
You have just done what you do all day long.
You listen to everyone else's note.
The one that has the house.
The one that seems light.
And the one that announces something on a screen.
You follow them all.
You line them up side by side.
And you wear yourself out.
It is far too many sounds for a single pair of ears.
So let us drop the thousands.
And keep just one.
Right next to you.
Within arm's reach.
There is a stalk.
Nothing but it.
Turn toward it.
The dry leaves crackle beneath your feet.
Then the silence returns.
Raise your hand.
Bring it close without touching.
Until you feel the coolness coming from the wood.
Then lay your palm flat.
Fingers spread.
It is smooth and cool.
Under your fingers you feel the regular.
Slightly rounded nodes.
Do nothing,
Just wait.
It comes through the palm.
A low and steady vibration which fills the hand.
Than the forearm.
You do not hear it with your ears.
You receive it through your skin.
A note and nothing else.
It neither rises nor falls.
It holds.
Now.
Without letting go of the stalk.
Turn your head to your right.
There is a bamboo there.
Cut cleanly.
At hip height.
The cut is pale.
The inside is hollow.
A tube that goes straight down into the earth.
Look at your arms.
You have come with something.
These are your measurements.
The ones you take a hundred times a day without thinking.
The ranking you redo in the evening.
The lives you line up next to your own to see which one sticks out more.
Here they have a shape.
A handful of measuring rules.
Warm from being held against you.
No one will blame you for having carried them.
They are put in our hands very early.
At school and at the table.
But they are heavy.
And tonight you let them go.
Take the first one.
Hold it over the hollow.
Flat.
Then open your fingers.
It hits the wall.
Once.
Twice.
And the sound goes down until it becomes a dot very far beneath your feet.
Take the second.
Wait for the sound of the first to fade.
Then let go.
Continue like this until the last.
Your arms empty.
And they rise a little on their own.
It goes down.
And it stays down.
Shake out your hands once to loosen them.
Then place your palm flat again on the stalk.
The sound returns at once.
Broader.
It fills the entire hand.
Than the arm.
Than the chest.
And something shifts.
The vibration stops coming from the bamboo.
It comes from you.
It travels through the arm.
Through the throat.
And it comes out.
You are no longer receiving it.
You are giving it.
This is your note.
The one you give back when life touches you.
The way a material gives off a sound when it is brushed.
It has held this pitch forever.
There were simply thousands of other sounds on top of it.
Listen around you.
The stalk under your palm takes on your note.
Than its neighbors.
Them.
From one to the next.
The whole bamboo grove tunes itself to you.
Matter does this when it encounters a true note.
The light has dimmed a notch while you were listening.
Stay inside this.
And listen further out.
There is a note that has not arrived yet.
It comes from the back of the bamboo grove.
And you recognize it before you understand why.
It is yours.
The same.
But fuller and more grounded.
It is your note in a year.
You hear it before you see anything at all.
Listen to how it begins.
It starts all at once.
At full pitch without hesitation.
Listen to what it does when another note appears beside it.
It continues.
It keeps its volume and its pitch.
And the two sounds hold together in the same air.
And listen to how it ends.
It stops without breaking.
It descends.
Thickens.
It settles on the ground.
And it stays in the earth long after.
Then the body appears around the sound.
Standing in the middle of the stalks.
Palm flat.
Head turned toward the green light.
This is you in a year.
And know that this tuning began tonight.
Let this image go.
Let the visualization drift away.
The noise of the bamboo grove thickens.
It gathers.
It gains body.
And little by little it ceases to be a sound.
It becomes a warm substance.
It arrives through your ankles.
It climbs along your legs.
Passes your hips and settles over your belly and over your chest.
It has just the weight it needs to make you want to stay underneath.
It is soft on top and denser underneath.
Meanwhile,
The stalks make the reverse journey.
The wood disappears.
Each stalk becomes a standing,
Green note.
Rising from the earth to the leaves.
And holding its pitch all night long.
Without taking a breath.
They are thousands side by side.
And together they form a cord so vast that you cannot hear its edges.
They tune themselves to one another while you sleep.
One rises by a hair.
The next one lowers by as much.
And the hole closes in a little more.
Every five breaths.
A dry leaf cracks somewhere on the ground.
This is the place's clock.
And it keeps excellent time.
The green light makes the same journey.
It has stopped being seen.
It is heard.
Along.
Very low sustained tone.
Laid beneath everything else.
Which will not move all night.
And the smell of sap as it thickened.
Has begun to sound deep.
Somewhere very high up,
A leaf descends while holding a note.
And it takes all night to reach the ground.
And the cord counts you in.
There were thousands of stalks here.
From tonight on.
There is one more.
It is warm.
It is lying down.
And its note holds right at the bottom of the chord.
The other's tune to it.
And it goes without saying.
You're measuring rules for their part.
Have finished their descent.
They settle at the bottom.
With everything that was already there.
And the cord passes over them.
Your breathing tunes itself on its own.
Without asking for your opinion.
It stretches.
It slows down.
And it ends up matching the length of an entire stalk.
There is nothing left to sort.
Nothing left to compare.
Nothing left to follow with your ears.
Everything sounds at once.
And everything is at the same warmth.
And all of this will still hold.
Warm and steady.
Long after you have stopped paying attention to it.
And if you are not asleep yet.
Please repeat the following positive affirmations.
Until you fall asleep.
Your unconscious will then take over.
I feel deeply in my rightful place.
Exactly as I am.
My uniqueness flows through my life with ease and pride.
