If there is a moment from the past you can't seem to let go of, this "Proactive Pause" is designed for you. Using a gentle three-step reset method, we'll work to re-pattern your nervous system's response to old memories and intrusive thoughts. By shifting from analytical thinking to somatic sensing, you will learn to release the "frozen history" stored in your body. This practice empowers you to transform the weight of the past into a present feeling of freedom and authentic flow.

Welcome,

This is Taryn,

And this is a Wellspring Willow guided,

Proactive pause for healing the past.

If there's a moment in the past that you can't seem to let go of,

A comment from a friend,

A moment of conflict,

Or a moment that is causing your mind to race,

I invite you to pause.

We're going to use the reset method to gently re-enter this moment with a compassionate presence.

Our bodies are wired to hold on to past experiences,

So revisiting them might feel daunting.

But we know from modern science that you have the power to create new pathways in your brain.

This practice is a gentle way to re-pattern your nervous system's response to old memories.

We're not born knowing how to release the past.

It's a skill we need to learn,

One gentle practice at a time.

And the more you use this reset,

The more freedom you will feel.

So,

Gently close your eyes now,

Or simply soften the gaze,

And settle in as we begin.

First,

We will release and exhale.

Take a slow,

Diaphragmatic breath in through the nose.

And then a long,

Deliberate exhale.

Feeling the body begin to release tension in the shoulders,

The jaw,

And the brow.

One more breath in.

Breathing in a sense of freedom.

And exhaling what was.

Next,

We'll sense and explore.

Gently now,

Bring to mind that moment you can't seem to let go of.

And without judgment,

Simply sense where that frozen history of the memory is living in your body.

Notice any physical sensations.

Does anything feel tight?

Constricted?

Tense?

Are there any knots?

Just sensing,

Observing,

Without trying to change it or fix it.

And now,

With deep,

Compassionate curiosity,

I invite you to ask that part of you.

What is my body trying to tell me right now?

What is this frozen feeling trying to teach me?

Just notice what comes up,

Without needing to analyze it.

And finally,

We'll trust and transform from this place of stillness and wisdom.

I invite you to lean in and trust your intuition.

Not a magical voice,

But a deep knowing or sense within you.

You have the power to transform the frozen history of that moment into a memory that no longer holds any power over you.

You are choosing to release it from the body and your heart.

Perhaps you can offer a gentle,

Internal word of forgiveness,

Or a choice to simply leave it in the past.

You have just transformed the weight of that memory into a feeling of freedom.

This moment is a return to your authentic flow.
