Reclaim Your Power | A Meditation To Return To Self
This gentle, grounding visualization is an invitation to reclaim the power you may have unknowingly placed outside of yourself — through approval, comparison, people-pleasing, or self-doubt. Guided through a summer garden, breathwork, and embodied imagery, this practice helps you reconnect with your inner anchor: the steady, reliable Self that remains calm and present regardless of life’s turbulence. Return home to yourself, restore inner certainty, and carry this grounded power back into your day.

Good morning,
Good evening,
Good afternoon,
Wherever you may be,
Whatever you may be doing,
Hello and thank you for being here thank you for taking the time for yourself my name is Tharirumunda Warrara and I'm the host of the Stories from the Soul podcast and author of the Circling Back newsletter I'm a meditation teacher and I help guide people back home back to their authentic and true self,
The self that is always with you always reliable,
One you can always count on,
Always calm regardless of how turbulent life may be on the outside today's practice is here to help you return power from outside back to you gently,
Steadily,
Without force all too often,
Unbeknownst to us at times,
We give our power away to someone or something external from us and doing that we find ourselves overwhelmed,
Insecure,
Anxious,
Sitting with angst this is a short practice to help you bring that back internal to you So,
Before we begin,
Find yourself in a comfortable position in a place where you won't be disturbed we'll start by using a simple breathing pattern we'll take a deep breath in through the nose,
Hold it at the top and then just as it's getting a little too long,
We'll take one gasp of air in and exhale out through the mouth and sigh that out so inhale through the nose,
Hold it at the top gasp of air through the mouth and then exhale through the mouth and sigh it out we'll do two together and then the third we'll do on our own let's do it now,
So inhale deeply through the nose and hold one last gasp of air and sigh it out straight away into the next one,
Inhale through the nose gasp of air and sigh third one in your own time by yourself and with that just allow everything to soften let your shoulders fall let your jaw loosen let your attention rest gently on the breath bring your focus to the breath,
Not to control,
Just to observe and if during this practice your mind starts to drift away don't worry,
Simply and gently return with the mantra I am here,
I am now,
I am present I am here,
I am now,
I am present and with that let's find ourselves at the start of this practice and let's begin begin by seeing yourself standing at the gate of a garden and the season is summer could be a garden that you know when you've seen the one that just comes to mind right now the warm air brushes against your skin sunlight pooling and soft golden ribbons to the leaves above you what we'll do now is we'll take a deep breath in and an exhale and on that exhale we'll step into the garden so inhale through the nose and exhale and as we exhale see yourself step into the garden find yourself in the garden and the air in the garden is fragrant a blend of jasmine,
Warm earth the air in the garden is fragrant a blend of jasmine,
Warm earth,
Summer heat bees hum lazily from flower to flower and a light breeze moves through the trees with a gentle whisper to your left lies a spread of wildflowers sways in color marigolds glowing like tiny suns lavender releasing its calm familiar scent white daisies scattered like small joyful stars climbing roses trail up a wooden trellis soft pink,
Deep red,
Glowing white their petals unfolding with quiet certainty beneath you the grass is thick,
Lush,
A vibrant summer green soft enough to hold every step and carrying that unmistakable scent of warmth,
Familiarity,
Nostalgia to your right a clear rectangular swimming pool lies still,
Calm reflecting the sunlight and shifting silver patterns the water is silent,
Steady,
A mirror of peace and as you move deeper tall grasses sway gently around you each movement slow and hurried,
Alive this garden welcomes you without asking for anything just breathe,
Just arrive as you walk deeper into this summer garden you begin to notice a quiet truth riding inside you somewhere along the way pieces of your power were placed in other people's hands placed through approval,
Placed through comparison,
Placed through pleasing placed through waiting for someone else to confirm what you already knew just notice that without judgment without rushing to change,
To fix,
To mend you find yourself on a warm earth path and as you follow it through the garden each step draws you closer back to self at the top of this path lies a small wooden table and as you approach it you see a bowl and the closer you get you're able to see what's inside the bowl and there rests smooth river stones each one of those stones represents something you've given away be it your voice,
Be it your boundaries,
Be it your energy be it your certainty about your competence,
Your capability be it your energy,
Your clarity perhaps you've given away being seen,
Being heard,
Being understood just pause here for a moment and allow your breath to settle feel now into what do you feel you've most given away?
Is it the essence of who you are?
Is it the knowing that you are good at your job?
You are a kind partner you are a helpful child whatever it is really allow yourself to feel that emotion connect with where it feels strongest in your body be it your feet,
Your gut,
Your chest,
Your shoulders,
Your neck,
Your throat,
Your mouth and allow it to take shape,
To take shape in the form of a stone in the bowl one of many but as you connect to it physically in your body see it in the bowl begin to glow with a soft golden light this is the piece of power you're ready to reclaim today lift it gently put it in your hand and feel its warmth tighten your grip not too much just gently so that you feel the surface feel all of the edges and connect that the warmth that it gives off feel that warmth move through your hand up your arm into your chest and feel that warmth connect from the stone to where in your body you felt that feeling and if you want you can feel the stone in your hand and place one the other hand on the part of your body where you felt that feeling and allow that connection and as you do that we'll say three affirmations I'll say them slowly twice you can repeat them out loud or softly internally to self say quietly I return my power back to me I return my power back to me I call back what is mine I call back what is mine I stand in self again I stand in self again allow that truth to settle allow it to take root allow it to become yours again and just notice notice how your body responds the shoulders sit taller the breath moves deeper the spine feel steadier like a tree growing inside you roots burrowing beneath you branches reaching to the sky seeking the energy of the sun above you this unmovable unshakable tree that may blow in the wind but doesn't bend doesn't break one that just simply sits there in certainty knowing in power with peace this is what it feels like to come home this is what it feels like to bring back the power that has gone outside of you back internally within you and as we go through this perhaps you notice something else too that no matter what changes in your life no matter who stays,
Who leaves,
Who shouts,
Who hurts,
Who screams,
Who rejects,
Who abandons there remains one constant one certainty that one relationship that steadies everything and that's the relationship relationship with yourself that's self for the capital S it's the anchor that holds during a storm the windsock that gives direction but never flies away the rock that regardless of the sun,
The wind,
The rain sits immobile certain allow yourself as you bring your power back to connect to that self ground into that anchor point and with that,
That connection and link back to self look around the summer garden once more the light,
The color,
The warmth,
The peace let it reflect your inner truth your power lives here your center lives here it has never been lost,
Never given away just waiting for you to return and with that,
Let's slowly and gently bring ourselves back and start to pull out from the practice,
Turn around,
Walk back down the path past the swimming pool,
Past the flowers and stop at the gate and turn around and look back at the garden feel how it sees and looks different,
Brighter,
Calmer and we'll close with the final three affirmations again,
I'll read them twice slowly I stand in my power I stand in my power I honor myself I honor myself I return all that was external back to me I return all that was external allow that to settle and start to bring yourself back walk through the gate close the gate behind you and look down in your hand and see that smooth stone still there thank you for being here thank you for walking this journey,
Thank you for coming home and when you're ready start to bring yourself back out of the practice feel the warmth coming back into your body hear the sounds,
Feel the temperature of the room,
All your shoulders or your neck slowly open your eyes carry this steadiness into the rest of your day again,
I'm Tariru Mundawarara and if you'd like to deepen this feeling of returning home to self try another meditation of mine on here called a meditation for self-love and deep acceptance I hope it'll help you anchor the power you reclaim today with gentleness,
Compassion,
And truth thank you and see you again next time feel free to come back to this practice whenever you feel out of sorts,
Feel like you've given your power away to someone or something outside of you allow this practice to bring you back
