Hi everyone,
I'm Stephanie Boxer Baum.
Thank you so much for meditating with me today.
For today's practice,
We're going to be doing a grounding travel meditation.
Often when we're traveling,
We're headed into a lot of unknowns.
We don't know if our flight will be delayed,
Maybe you're going somewhere new and you have no idea what to expect,
Or you're going somewhere where there's a lot of challenges ahead.
Either way,
Doing some grounding and getting centered before traveling,
I find is always a helpful practice.
So this will be lightly guided and really has an intention of helping to help you feel grounded and centered in advance of whatever your travel plans are.
So coming to a position that feels supportive today,
Whether that's sitting or lying down,
I'm a big believer that you have to feel really supported no matter what position you're in when you meditate.
So just picking something that feels good today and when you're ready,
Gently closing your eyes.
Taking a deep inhale in and a gentle exhale out.
Deep inhale in,
A gentle exhale out.
And let's take a moment to just get grounded in the body.
When there is a big travel day ahead,
Oftentimes we're rushing,
We're on the move.
So we want to just take a moment to get really present in our minds,
In our bodies and prepare for whatever is ahead.
So beginning to feel into the feet,
Putting your breath and your attention into the feet,
Moving up the legs,
The knees,
The backs of the legs,
The pelvis,
Adding a little bit of calming breath for the stomach,
Checking in on the energy of the fingers,
The hands,
The elbows,
The shoulders,
And coming to the heart space.
Checking in with how do you want to feel when you are traveling today?
Silently asking yourself this question and gently setting this intention.
How do I want to feel when I am traveling today?
And this is a well-wishing.
It's okay if maybe you're not actually feeling that way,
But we can set an intention and hold that intention throughout our travels.
So holding that intention top of mind as we move through,
Releasing tension in our shoulders,
Our neck,
Our head.
Breathing that intention all the way in,
All the way out,
And silently asking yourself,
What is one thing I can do to support this intention?
What is one thing I can do to help support this intention?
There's no right or wrong answer.
We're simply inviting curiosity in.
What will support this intention while you are traveling?
Allowing for this sense of confidence,
Assurance,
And a feeling of being steadfast that no matter what happens,
You can allow this sense of ease to guide you on your travels today.
It is okay if not everything goes as planned.
Or perhaps everything will go exactly as planned.
And we want to be present and appreciative of that moment.
Perhaps inviting in a sense of adventure,
Fun,
In whatever way you can find it.
These are the qualities we can invite ourselves to investigate while traveling.
Finding ways to make it easier on ourselves.
So as we sit here for these next few moments,
And I'll watch our time,
Simply allowing yourself to breathe in ease and exhale stress.
Breathe in ease and exhale stress.
On your next inhale and beginning to wiggle your fingers and toes.
Gently coming back to your surroundings.
And when it feels right to you,
Simply opening your eyes.
Thank you so much again for meditating with me today.
I wish you very safe travels.
And as always,
Sending a reminder that you are always enough as is.
I hope to be meditating again with you soon.
