Transcript

As you sit down to eat,

Take a moment to just really let yourself stop,

Noticing your body,

Letting your shoulders relax,

Just allowing yourself to be seated in the chair that you're sitting in.

Choosing to sit down and take a moment to nourish your body and rest your entire system.

Taking a nice deep breath in and as you breathe out,

Feeling your whole body melting into your chair ever so slightly and just letting your eyes look at the food that you're about to eat.

Noticing the colors,

Noticing the textures,

Maybe using your hands to feel the temperature of the food.

Is it cold?

Is it warm?

Taking a breath in and seeing if you can smell the food that's there in front of you and just noticing a sense of gratitude inside yourself as you really allow yourself to drink in the smells and the colors and the fact that you have a moment to nourish your body.

And as you start to take your first bite of this food,

Really allow the smell and the taste of it to swirl around in your mouth and your nose and just taking the time to chew and to swallow.

And once again,

Breathing between each bite,

Feeling your shoulders relax,

Feeling your feet on the floor or your bottom on the seat that you're sitting in.

Even if it's just for this first moment,

Allow yourself to be present with the food that you're about to eat.

And as you are eating your food now,

Just feeling the nutrients and the energy of that food coming into your body.

Just being aware of the tastes and the smells again.

Once again,

Drinking in the colors of the food that you're eating.

Just giving yourself permission to eat mindfully and slowly.

Noticing when your body feels that it's had enough.

Noticing when your body feels it wants a little bit of a rest from digesting and eating and maybe you can have a pause in your eating.

Take another breath,

Take some space within your eating and then coming back to your meal with renewed attention to the senses,

The colors,

The smells and the taste.

Allowing yourself to be nourished on all levels and noticing the sounds around you while you eat and just taking the time to eat slowly,

With awareness and taking this time to allow your whole body to reset and rest.
