Our minds are busy every day. We’d love to take a break but don’t know how. This practice guides you in a visual meditation to let them go. This is great at the bus stop, during a break, or when you try to sleep (instead of counting sheep ;-) ). Basically anywhere or any time you want to take a rest from the busy mind and practice to let go. Like with all practices a reminder that it takes time to fully understand so please give yourself the grace of a beginner if this is new for you. Hello dear one.

This is a meditation technique for when there are lots of thoughts running through your brain,

Like trains on the tracks swishing by.

Let's see by practicing this technique together if we can slow those thoughts down a bit and give your mind and body a bit more ease and peace.

Let's start,

Shall we?

Try to find a comfortable seating position,

Wherever you are right now.

Leave your eyes open or close them if that feels more comfortable to you.

Feel your feet on the ground,

Your bum on the seat,

And if your back is supported in some way,

Feel what that feels like right now.

Take a gentle inhale,

As deep as feels nice,

And open your mouth and exhale with a sigh.

Another gentle and deep inhale,

And exhale with a sigh.

Last one here,

Deep inhale and exhale with whatever sound wants to come out.

We then start off with trying to imagine a train.

What does your train look like?

Is it small?

Is it a long train?

An older choo choo train?

A new high speed train?

How many wagons does it have?

What colors does it have?

When you've got your train,

Start to tune into the thoughts that you have coming up.

Pick the first one and literally put it on the train.

Then wave it far well and see the train leaving.

Take the next thought,

Imagine your train again,

And gently guide that thought to find a place on the train,

And then send the train off.

Feel your feet on the ground,

The connection of your bum on whatever you're resting on,

And any support that you feel throughout your body.

Take the next thought that arises,

See that train in front of you,

Put that thought on the train,

And then let it go.

Feel your breath coming in and out through your nose or your mouth,

And send more and more thoughts away in this way.

I'll let you continue a while on your own.

I'll let you know once it's time to come back.

Slowly start to come to an end of this practice,

And send that thought that is most present in your mind right now on its journey to another place.

When the train is gone,

Take another gentle inhale.

Open your mouth and exhale.

Feel the weight of your body gently pressing into the ground.

Take another inhale,

And then exhale completely with a sound that wants to come out.

Gently inhale,

And exhale completely out.

If your eyes are closed,

Gently start blinking open your eyes and start looking around you.

Tune into your body,

Feel what it feels like to be you right now,

And notice how your thoughts are doing.

Thank you so much for practicing with me.

Have a gentle day.
