Welcome to this calming journey into deep rest.

Tonight we'll let go of the day's stresses and find peace as we gently drift into sleep.

Find a quiet space where you can fully relax and get comfortable.

If you're ready,

Close your eyes and take a deep slow breath in,

Holding it for a moment before slowly exhaling.

Allow your body to begin releasing any tension.

Take another deep breath in and out.

Feel your body sinking deeper into relaxation with every breath.

Let your muscles soften.

Start with your feet.

Feel them relax.

Let that peaceful sensation move up into your legs.

Release any tension in your thighs,

Hips and stomach,

Allowing your body to feel heavier,

More relaxed.

As you continue to breathe deeply,

Let that sensation flow up through your chest and your back.

With each exhale,

Feel your body melt further into the surface beneath you.

Let your shoulders relax,

Your arms and your hands,

All the way to your fingertips.

Your neck softens and you begin to feel the weight of your head resting into your pillow.

Now that your body is relaxed,

Let's focus on quietening the mind.

Imagine a soft wave of calm washing over your thoughts.

Each wave gently clears away worries or stress.

Picture those thoughts floating away like leaves carried downstream,

Drifting further and further until they're gone.

In the quiet,

Imagine a peaceful,

Serene place.

It could be a warm beach,

A quiet forest or a peaceful garden.

Picture yourself there,

Feeling safe,

Calm and at peace.

Take in the sights,

The sounds and the feeling of complete relaxation in this place.

Allow your body to feel supported and at ease in this peaceful space.

As you rest in this peaceful place,

Know that sleep is just a gentle step away.

With each breath,

You're drifting deeper into rest.
