Hello,
Welcome to today's meditation.
Today's meditation is centered around weathering the storm of life.
Sometimes in life,
Storms happen.
They can be scary,
They can be chaotic,
They can even be destructive.
These storms can happen literally or figuratively.
It's our job in life to not let these storms incapacitate us.
We should acknowledge that these storms come,
But then they also go.
And so it's about weathering those storms of life.
So before we begin today's meditation,
Get comfortable,
Have a straightened posture with an elongated spine,
And close your eyes and get settled in.
We're going to take a deep breath through our nose,
Filling our belly with air.
Then we're going to release that breath,
And we're going to do so with a large exhale.
Take another deep breath in through the nose,
Exhaling with a sigh if you can.
And on this last inhale,
I want you to hold your breath at the top for five to ten seconds.
And then exhale the biggest exhale you've done thus far.
Continue to settle in,
Quiet the mind.
Now I want you to picture yourself sitting in a meadow.
Behind you are blue,
Sunny skies,
But in front of you there seems to be dark storm clouds starting to appear.
You notice that those storm clouds are moving in your direction.
Notice how the wind is starting to pick up.
You can hear the grass blowing in the wind,
Potentially even leaves blowing around on the ground.
And just notice what that wind feels like.
Picture what that wind feels like.
Imagine it blowing through your hair,
Against your face.
At some point that wind seems to pick up in intensity.
Don't judge it,
Just notice it.
Notice how that intensity is bringing those storm clouds closer to you.
As those storm clouds approach you,
Notice the rain that begins to fall.
Falling lightly,
Or it could be a steady drizzle of rain.
Whatever form the rain takes,
That's okay.
Imagine the moisture and the nourishment that this rain is providing in that water you're sitting in.
Imagine the animals that this rain will help water.
Imagine this rain water seeping into you.
Soar along with that rain that becomes thunder.
You see beautiful lightning going across the sky.
You feel the vibrations of the loud thunderous booms.
It's easy to be scared by lightning and thunder.
It's easy to get overwhelmed.
Again,
Reframe it to capture the beauty of the lightning.
Think about how beautiful that power is.
Picture the vibration you feel whenever the thunder.
Take in this lightning storm for the beauty that it holds.
Beautiful flashes of light.
Think about how this could apply to your life.
Storms come and go.
No matter what,
The storms always pass.
There's a storm going on in your life right now.
I encourage you to get the right admiration for its strength and its power.
But also know that it's a fleeting moment and it will pass.
After these storms and these rains,
We often see vegetation grow back.
They grow exponentially.
These storms fuel a greater light force.
Sometimes it takes destruction to allow us to see the beauty in you.
Take a few deep breaths to ground yourself.
Imagine after each inhale,
You have deep,
Dark roots.
The storm is,
Or how strong the storm is.
You are rooted and you are grounded.
After you envision those roots going deep into the earth.
Envision a white light coming out of your crown chakra.
Into the sky.
The storm clouds seem to be moving behind you.
In front of you seems to be another strip of blue,
Sunny skies.
The breeze that brought the storm is now pushing the storm out and bringing it back.
Bringing back the sun.
Imagine the sun hitting your face.
Drying any moisture that came from the storm.
You hear the birds coming back.
And soon the meadow comes to life around you again.
You,
The meadow,
The animals and the creatures that inhabit this meadow.
You've all survived the storm.
And you notice the sheer beauty that exists after it.
