Welcome,
I am Jerry,
A mindfulness coach and the founder of Nishrayasa,
A holistic wellness studio based in Fort Kochi,
Kerala.
In this practice,
We learn to notice thoughts without becoming the thinker.
Find a comfortable position.
Allow your body to feel supported.
If it feels comfortable,
Gently close your eyes or soften your gaze.
Take a slow,
Deep breath in and gently breathe out.
Again,
Breathing in.
And breathing out.
Now allow the breath to return to its natural rhythm.
Bring your awareness to the breath.
Notice each inhale and each exhale,
Simply resting with the breath.
Whenever the mind wanders,
There is nothing to fix.
Simply notice and gently return to the breath.
Now allow your attention to turn toward the mind.
Simply observe and notice what the mind is doing.
Perhaps the mind is planning.
Remembering Imagining.
Judging.
Comparing or perhaps it is quiet.
Whatever is present,
Simply notice.
As thoughts arise,
Recognize them.
No need to follow them.
No need to push them away.
Simply notice.
A thought is here.
If you find yourself carried away by a thought,
Notice the moment you become aware of it.
That moment of noticing is awareness.
Gently return to observing.
Continue watching the movement of the mind.
Notice the thoughts without becoming the thinker.
Thought after thought.
Appearing Changing.
Passing.
Simply observed.
You don't need to understand your thoughts.
You don't need to judge them.
You don't need to stop them.
Simply allow the mind to do what it naturally does while you observe.
As you observe the mind,
Notice that there is a quiet awareness already present.
Simply witnessing whatever arises.
Thoughts come and go,
Yet this awareness remains.
Rest your head.
If judgment arises,
Notice them too.
If the mind says,
I am distracted,
I am thinking too much,
This isn't working,
Simply recognize these as thoughts,
Nothing more.
Allow everything to be exactly as it is.
Nothing needs to be different.
Simply continue observing.
Watching Noticing.
Allowing.
Now gently bring your awareness back to the breath,
Feeling each inhale and each exhale.
Notice the body sitting here.
The sounds around you.
The simple experience of this moment.
As this meditation comes to a close,
Remember that this awareness is always available.
At any moment during the day,
You can pause,
Turn your attention inward,
And simply observe the activity of the mind.
Begin to notice your fingers.
Your toes.
And when you are ready,
Gently open your eyes.
Thank you for practicing with me today.
