Guided Meditation Polishing the Diamond Within Take a deep breath in and let it out slowly.
Again,
Breathe in deeply through your nose and exhale softly through your mouth.
Allow yourself to settle.
Let go of the day so far and arrive fully in this moment.
Now,
Gently close your eyes.
Feel your body supported by the chair beneath you.
Your feet resting easily on the ground.
Take a moment to imagine yourself sitting in a quiet classroom.
The light is soft,
Peaceful.
You can feel the smooth surface of the desk beneath your hands.
You see the teacher standing at the front of the room.
And you notice the other students around you,
Calm,
Curious,
Waiting.
At the front of the room,
You notice a chalkboard,
Clean,
Ready for something new to be written upon.
The teacher smiles and says,
Today,
We're going to have a small test,
Just one question.
But you'll need to answer it correctly to pass the class.
Notice what you feel in this moment.
A flutter of nerves,
Curiosity,
Curiosity,
Maybe even a little anxiety.
Simply notice.
You need to pass this class to graduate.
The teacher continues.
Take out your notebooks and pens.
Here's the question.
What is the distance in light years?
From the planet Earth to the North Star,
Polaris.
You feel a quiet stir in the room.
And inside,
A mix of emotions begin to rise.
Fear,
Panic,
Maybe frustration.
You have no idea what the answer is.
This is a class about developing spirituality.
What does the North Star have to do with that?
Take a slow breath in and a long breath out.
Notice how your mind reacts when it focuses on the problem.
The uncertainty,
The need to get it right,
The pressure to know the answer.
Now,
Your inner guidance,
The teacher within,
Speaks softly.
This is the voice of wisdom you have given a name to.
Perhaps you call it your higher self.
Perhaps it is something else.
Whatever you call it,
This is the voice of your still,
Small knowing.
You hear your inner guide say gently,
You don't have to know the answer right now.
You simply need to know how to find it.
And the teacher smiles again.
Oh,
The teacher adds,
I forgot to tell you.
You can use any resource in the classroom.
You can look in the encyclopedias at the back of the room.
You can check the books on the shelf.
Or you can use your smart phone and ask Google.
You just can't ask anyone else in the room.
You must find the answer on your own.
A call fills the room.
Now,
Notice how your feelings begin to shift.
Relief flows in.
Anticipation.
Confidence.
You still don't know the answer.
But now you know you can find it.
You have a way.
You've got this.
Take another deep,
Steady breath.
Feel the difference between the energy of the problem and the energy of the solution.
When you focused on the problem,
You felt fear,
Anxiety,
Even helplessness.
When you turned your focus toward the solution,
Toward the way forward,
Your energy became hopeful.
Eager.
Light.
That shift in energy is everything.
That is the moment you open to inner guidance.
To the quiet wisdom that already lives within you.
Now,
As you breathe softly,
Your inner guide steps closer.
You notice a soft light shimmering in their hands.
It's a diamond.
Radiant.
Pure.
Alive with color and brilliance.
Your guide says,
This diamond represents you.
Each facet represents a part of your being.
Your thoughts.
Your emotions.
Your memories.
Your light.
As you hold this diamond in your awareness,
You notice that some facets sparkle brilliantly,
While others are dulled by dust.
The residue of fear,
Worry,
Old beliefs.
Your guide says,
When you work through and release the grunge of the subconscious,
When you clean each facet with awareness,
Forgiveness,
And truth,
You allow yourself to shine more brightly.
You become the diamond you were always meant to be.
Take a deep,
Nourishing breath.
And with each exhale,
Imagine gently polishing one of your facets.
Perhaps it's a facet of self-trust.
Perhaps love,
Forgiveness,
Or courage.
Each breath clears the surface.
Each breath reveals more brilliance.
Feel your light expanding.
Your energy lifting.
You are radiance.
You are clear.
You are whole.
Your inner guide whispers,
When you face a problem in life,
Remember this feeling.
You can focus on the question,
On not knowing,
On the struggle,
Or you can turn toward the light.
Or the brilliance of the diamond within.
When you change your focus from fear to faith,
From doubt to curiosity,
Your answer begins to reveal itself.
Let those words settle deeply into your heart.
Let them become your truth.
You are the diamond.
You are the student and the teacher.
You are the question and the answer.
Take one more slow,
Full breath.
And as you exhale,
Feel gratitude for your inner wisdom,
For your higher self,
For the light that guides you from within.
And now,
Gently bring your awareness back to your body.
Feel your hands.
Feel your feet.
Feel the rhythm of your breathing.
And when you are ready,
Gently flutter your eyes open.
You are clear.
You are radiance.
You are shining like the diamond.
You truly are.
