This Yoga Nidra journey.
Has been designed to support a sacred pause in your day.
Intentional rest.
And time to recharge a drained battery.
So choose a spot.
You can lie down and feel held.
Grab as many pillows that you might like.
To get cozy.
And maybe an eye covering.
Yoganidra is a state of deep rest.
That lies in between wake and sleep.
Some shamans know this place as the void.
Complete space and emptiness.
With the subconscious and the body.
Remembers all of its years and lifetimes of wisdom.
And the body and the mind.
Can access restorative rest.
If you fall asleep,
That's okay.
You might dreamweave a bit.
Weaving in and out of wakefulness and sleep.
Enjoy the journey.
And to help us soothe our thinking minds a little bit,
Let's move through some pranayama or breathing exercises.
And breath retention.
Take an inhale for 1,
2,
3.
Hold the breath 2,
3.
Exhale 4,
3,
2,
1.
Inhale 1,
2,
3.
Hold 2,
3.
Exhale 3,
3 2 1 Inhale 1 2 3 Hold 2 3 Exhale 3 2 1 Inhale Hold.
Exhale.
One more round.
And as we sink into our yoga nidra rest.
Let's create a sankalpa.
And intention for this practice.
If you have an intention you're working with,
You are welcome to use your own.
If not,
Feel free to use this intention.
I deserve rest.
And we'll sink into this sacred time of pause.
I deserve rest and will sink in to this sacred time of pause.
And we'll begin to rotate our awareness through our body.
To help dissolve our thinking mind just a bit more and rest deeper into the subtle layers.
Of our spirit and body.
So let's start by feeling the bottom of the feet.
The soles of the feet.
Tips of the toes.
Tops of the feet.
The front of the ankles.
Shins,
Kneecaps.
The top of the front thighs.
Hip bones.
Pubic bone.
Low belly.
Sides of the way.
Front of the ribs.
Diaphragm.
Collar bones.
Front of the shoulders.
Upper arms.
Inner elbows.
Lower arms.
Inside the wrist.
Palms of the hands.
Fingertips.
And awareness sliding up the arms to the center of the heart,
Center of the throat.
Chin.
Bottom lip.
Top lip.
Space in between the lips.
The tip of the tongue.
Roof of the mouth.
Ears.
Nose.
Both eyes.
Eyebrows forehead.
Top of the head.
The whole back of the skull bones.
Brainstem.
Back of the neck.
Back of the shoulders.
Behind the arms.
Back of the hands.
And awareness sliding up the arms to the centre of the back.
Kidneys.
The low back.
Tailbone.
Glutes.
The back of the upper legs,
Behind the knees.
Have.
Heals.
Souls of the feet.
Could you feel?
The top of the head.
And then the soles of the feet.
Top of the head.
Of the feet.
Could you sense both the feet and the head simultaneously?
Sense the bottom of the left foot and the right side of the brain.
And now,
The bottom of the right foot,
Left side brain.
Both sides of the feet,
Both sides of the brain at the same time.
And now just allow the awareness to completely stretch evenly through the body.
Sensing the entire body inside this pause.
Did you notice the feeling of your body breathing?
You're sinking into a state of deep rest and effortlessness.
The body still,
Breathes in and breathes out.
As if receiving a gentle cleansing as you rest.
Feel your breath gently cleansing you.
As you breathe in.
As you breathe out.
Counting the breaths now.
From the count.
Of one.
All the way down to 7.
As you feel your body inhale,
Count one.
Exhale,
One.
Inhale 2.
Exhale 2.
And so on to seven.
Deeply resting.
Let this sacred pause hold you.
And now,
Behind closed eyes.
Could you begin to imagine?
A perfectly still,
Moonlit lake.
A perfectly still,
Moonlit lake.
Snow falling in a silent forest.
Snow falling in a silent forest.
A lotus flower resting on still water.
A lotus flower resting on still water.
And ancient.
Tree.
And ancient.
Tree.
A seashell resting on the ocean floor.
A seashell resting on an ocean floor.
A candle flame,
Completely still.
A candle flame completely still.
A crescent moon suspended in the dark night sky.
A crescent moon suspended in the dark night sky.
Morning mist at the base of the mountain.
Morning mist at the base of the mountain.
Your body.
At peace.
Resting deeply.
Embodying this pause.
Nothing else to do.
Just be still.
Pause.
And be still.
You deserve to be right here.
And now counting your breaths from 7 back up to 1.
Inhale seven.
Exhale,
Seven.
And so on to one.
And slowly inviting yourself to feel your surface that you're lying on.
Feel the room that you're in.
Take some deep breaths.
And take a moment to thank yourself for carving out the time to pause.
We can weave this pause through our day.
Pause doesn't have to be just something we do when we lie down.
There's a pause between breaths.
There's silence between sounds.
So as you move through your day,
I invite you to hold the intention of pause.
Of stillness.
And thank you so much for taking this time to listen to this recording.
Namaste.
