Welcome to the Morning Guided Gratitude Meditation for starting your day with a positive mindset and a heart full of gratitude.
Find a comfortable seated position with your back straight but relaxed,
Resting your hands gently in your lap,
Close your eyes and take a deep breath in and out and once again in slow exhale and let's start by finding appreciation for the fact that our body breathes itself,
Gratitude for the breath happening on its own,
Without us needing to handle that.
Also just notice the rhythm of your natural breath,
The gentle rise and fall of your chest.
Can you give yourself a smile and,
In your heart,
Give thanks for your reliable,
Steady breath?

Thank you for the breath,
Thank you so much.
This morning your eyelids lifted themselves and your beautiful windows into the world were right there for you.
How magnificent are the eyes!
Thank you,
Thank you that I can see,
Thank you so much.
If you'd like to imagine a freshly baked apple pie or your favourite cake,
Recalling its smell and taste,
Let's grow the gratitude and appreciation for being able to smell and taste.
Thank you,
Thank you that I can smell,
Thank you that I can taste,
Thank you so much.
And how about the miracle of you hearing me right now,
Hearing the voice of your loved ones,
Music,
Laughter,
The crickets in the summer or silence.
How magnificent is this gift!
Thank you,
Thank you that I can hear,
Thank you so much.
And if you imagine yourself standing on a sunny green hill,
Let's give thanks for being able to sense the sun's warmth,
The brushing of the breeze against your skin,
The raindrops.
Thank you,
Thank you that I can feel,
Thank you so much.
And from that sunny green hill,
Sense and intensify the feeling of gratitude within you.
And if you like,
Send it outward to the world around you.
And I'm going to lead you through a series of affirmations,
You can repeat either silently or out loud.
I am grateful for my mind and body.
I am grateful for this new day and the opportunities it brings.
I am grateful for this moment.
I am capable,
Confident and strong.
I spread kindness and compassion wherever I go.
I am grateful for the experience of life and I surrender my fears and choose courage.
I embrace this day with joy and enthusiasm.
Today is a wonderful day.
And imagine this beautiful feeling of gratitude spreading from your heart throughout your whole body,
Enveloping every cell of your body.
And then slowly begin to wiggle your fingers and toes.
And when you feel ready,
Gently open your eyes.
