Welcome to this guided progressive body relaxation exercise.
Settle in and find a place of stillness,
Free of any distractions,
And just start by bringing your awareness to the breath as it moves in and out,
In and out.
In this practice,
I'll move through various points of the body,
Naming each physical point of the body just briefly.
And as I do so,
Simply bring your awareness to that area in your physical being and invite a sense of relaxation or release.
Sometimes people fall asleep from these types of progressive relaxation exercises,
So if you have somewhere you need to be after this practice,
I encourage you to set a timer.
As you're ready,
Find stillness and bring your awareness to the crown of your head,
Forehead,

Allow the entire body to experience a sense of peace and ease and stillness.
Notice your entire being,
Feeling calm and peaceful and quiet.
Allow a sense of ease to envelop you as the breath moves in and out of your lungs,
Sending vital life force energy to every fiber of your being.
And as it does so,
Allow every fiber of your being to be at peace with you.
To feel a renewed sense of vitality,
A sense of resilience,
Giving yourself the opportunity to thrive.
Whenever you're ready,
Start to shift your awareness from the internal world to the external world,
Becoming aware of anything you can hear or smell or sense.
Take a slightly deeper breath and perhaps stretch the arms overhead as if you're just waking up from a deep slumber.
Take your time to shift away from this deeply restorative practice.
Maybe stay here and take a little snooze.
I encourage you to slowly wake up.
Be well.
