Hey guys,
I hope all is well and that you're having a good day.
I wanted to create a meditation that addresses choosing yourself without guilt.
There are a number of reasons why choosing yourself can be hard and I think we all can have a hard time choosing ourself or even knowing what that looks like.
Sometimes choosing yourself can feel very selfish.
It can feel taboo.
It can honestly be hard sometimes especially if you don't have the time.
So if you're here that is a good thing because it means you're giving yourself time and I also want to use this time for us to take up space.
And so I invite you to sit tall or lap back whatever feels supportive.
You are allowed to take up space here.
Think of one place in your life where you've been over giving.
Don't analyze,
Just notice.
Now imagine gently pulling your energy back into your own body like gathering loose threads,
Taking a moment to visualize,
Taking your energy back,
Pulling it back,
And allowing it to return to your body.
Knowing that you're doing a good job here showing up for yourself.
And just as a gentle check-in,
Take a moment to notice am I breathing?
Breathing intentionally because of course you're breathing.
Taking a moment to inhale,
You to repeat after me.
I am that selfish for choosing myself.
Rest is not a reward,
It's a requirement.
I don't need permission to honor my needs.
Feel the steadiness that comes from self-trust.
Taking a moment to take a big deep inhale.
And hold at the top.
And exhale,
Letting it all go.
One last time,
Take one deep breath and affirm I am safe to prioritize myself.
And then exhale,
Letting go.
I'm just taking away that nothing real is lost when I choose me.
I'm proud of you for taking this moment to show up for yourself.
And I just invite you to choose other ways,
Whether it's big or small,
Throughout your day.
To choose what is best for you,
Knowing that choosing yourself is a form of self-love and self-care and you deserve it.
