Welcome.
I'm so glad you are here.
This is your Mandala Card of the Day.
A gentle pause to breathe.
Reflect.
And explore.
Before we begin,
I invite you to have a journal or a blank page nearby.
Along with the pen.
This session includes time for journaling.
For now.
Allow yourself to settle in.
There is nothing to fix.
Nothing to figure out.
Just this moment.
And this breath.
Let's begin by arriving fully into this moment.
Gently close your eyes if that feels comfortable.
Allow your shoulders to soften Let your hands rest wherever they feel at ease.
Take a slow breath in through your nose and a gentle exhale out through your mouth.
Again,
Inhale slowly.
Gathering your energy and focus inward And exhale fully.
Releasing distraction.
Tension.
And the weight of everyone else's needs.
One more time,
Breathing in steady and present.
And breathing out calm and clear.
Now allow your breath to return to its natural rhythm.
Notice the quiet space you've created Notice that you are here,
Present.
Fully aware.
Supported.
And allowed to simply be.
The theme for today is free.
Freedom begins within.
It is not something that arrives when everything in life is finally perfect.
Not when everyone understands you.
Not when you've met every expectation,
Fulfilled every obligation,
Or earned the right to take up space.
Freedom is the quiet moment when you decide.
I am allowed to be myself.
Fully.
Without apology.
Without shrinking.
Without performing a version of yourself that makes everyone else feel more comfortable.
Research by vulnerability and courage scholar,
B'nai Brown,
Offers something important here.
Brown has spent decades studying what happens when people hide who they truly are.
When they edit themselves.
Silence their needs.
And present a curated version of themselves to the world.
What she found is both simple and sobering.
When we conceal our authentic selves,
We do not just lose connection with others.
We lose connection with ourselves.
Brown describes authenticity as the daily practice of letting go of who we think we are supposed to be.
And embracing who we actually are.
Not once.
Not in a single brief moment.
But daily,
Choice by choice,
Breath by breath.
And yet.
.
.
This is harder than it sounds.
Because so many of us have learned,
Often very early,
That being fully ourselves comes with a cost.
That our needs are too much.
That our feelings are inconvenient.
That our preferences,
Our pace,
Our passions are things to be managed quietly.
Filtered around everyone else's comfort.
So we shrink.
We edit.
We perform.
And over time,
We forget there ever was another way.
I know this from my own experience.
For a long time,
The most vulnerable thing I could imagine was simply speaking up for what I needed.
As a full-time working mother running on exhaustion,
I carried the weight of so many roles,
So many expectations,
Invisible rules about what being a good mother looked like,
A good partner,
A good professional,
What I was supposed to be.
And everything I was supposed to do for everyone else.
And my own needs became the last item on that list.
The hobbies that brought me joy.
The creative work that made me feel like myself.
The quiet time I needed to simply breathe.
All of it felt like a luxury.
What shifted for me was learning to speak honestly about what I was carrying.
To say out loud,
I'm struggling.
I need support.
I need time that is mine.
It was terrifying.
And filled with guilt.
But it was also the beginning of something.
A sense of real freedom.
A reclaiming of my power.
It's a freedom that comes not from having everything figured out.
But from no longer pretending that everything is fine when it isn't.
Freedom did not arrive all at once.
It arrived in small acts of honesty.
In choosing again and again.
To honor what was true for me.
Even when it felt uncomfortable.
Even when it was inconvenient for others.
And even when I wasn't sure I deserved it.
And I want you to know that you deserve it too.
We all do.
So often we carry invisible rules about who we are allowed to be.
Rules about how much space we're allowed to take up,
How loudly we're allowed to speak,
How honestly we're allowed to express what we need.
Freedom has something different to offer.
It asks you to stand in your truth.
To use your voice,
To honor your preferences,
Your pace,
Your passions.
Freedom is not rebellion.
It is not disconnection from the people we love.
It is alignment.
It is the release of pretending.
It is the relief of no longer performing.
When you allow yourself to be real.
To be authentic.
To be fully and beautifully you.
You step into your power.
Not allowed power.
A grounded one.
The kind that says,
This is me and I am enough.
And without even trying,
You give others permission to do the same.
Because when one person.
Chooses to live freely and authentically.
Something shifts in the space around them.
Others feel it.
Others are moved by it.
Inspired.
They began to wonder if they too might be allowed to set down the performance.
And simply be.
Freedom begins the moment you embrace who you really are.
And that moment can be now.
Take a moment and bring your awareness back to your breath.
Inhale slowly.
And exhale gently.
I now invite you to sit with a few questions before we move into journaling.
There's no need to answer them perfectly.
Simply let them land and notice what arises.
Where in your life are you currently performing rather than being?
Where are you editing yourself,
Making yourself smaller,
Or waiting for permission to express what is true for you?
Is there a need you have that you've been afraid to voice?
Is there a preference you've been setting aside?
A part of yourself that you've been keeping quiet.
Because it felt like too much.
Or not enough.
Just notice without judgment,
Without pressure to fix or change anything right now.
Simply let yourself see clearly.
What is been asking for your attention.
And let that awareness carry you gently into your journaling.
Simply let whatever wants to be expressed come onto the page.
You It is time to gently bring your journaling to a close.
Take a slow breath in.
And a full breath out.
I'll share an affirmation now.
You can repeat it silently or out loud,
Letting the words settle within you.
I am free to be myself.
I am free to be myself.
I release the need to shrink or perform.
I release the need to shrink or perform.
I stand in my truth with confidence and ease.
I stand in my truth with confidence and ease.
My authentic expression is powerful and welcome.
My authentic expression is powerful and welcome.
Take one more breath.
Feeling grounded,
Present,
And free.
Thank you for giving yourself this time today.
Each time you return to this practice,
You are strengthening your courage to be fully yourself.
Not the edited version.
Not the performance.
The real you.
The one who is allowed to have needs,
To take up space,
To speak honestly.
And to live in alignment with what truly matters.
Freedom is not something you wait to be given.
It is something you choose.
One honest moment at a time.
I invite you to return tomorrow for another Mandala Card of the Day with a new theme.
Until then.
Stand in your truth.
Use your voice.
And give yourself permission to be exactly who you are.
May your day be filled with authentic expression.
Joy.
And the quiet power of living free.
