Welcome to this quick grounding exercise.
My name is Sami Briguet with OM Alignment.
Find a comfortable seated position.
As you settle into your space,
Quickly scan your body,
Releasing any tension that you find.
Be sure to plant your feet firmly into the earth.
Allow your spine to be straight and long.
And relax your shoulders,
Your jaw,
And the space between your eyebrows.
Now let's take a long,
Slow,
Deep breath in together.
Ready?
Inhale.
And let it go.
Now allow your breathing to return to normal,
But allow your exhales to be slightly longer than your inhales.
Now let's set the intention to ground.
With your spine straight,
Feel the gentle pull of gravity drawing you down towards the center of the earth.
Feel the support beneath your feet and beneath your seat.
While you're being drawn downwards,
You're also being supported and lifted up.
Simply be aware of this relationship,
Of being drawn down towards the earth and being lifted up.
Remember to breathe as you witness this gentle push and pull.
And now bring your hands to your heart and gently feel the warmth of your chest beneath your fingertips.
No matter where your mind wanders,
Your heart continues to beat,
Forever supporting you,
Forever keeping you alive and moving forward.
If your mind begins to drift,
Simply pull your awareness back to your heart,
Back to the earth beneath your feet,
And back to the support that you always have.
You can stay in this safe space as long as you'd like,
Or you can begin to wiggle your toes,
Deepen your breaths,
And wake up your body.
Know that you can take this feeling of grounded peace and security with you wherever you go,
And that you always have the ability to tap into this feeling as we just did in this exercise.
