Welcome.
A meditation on acceptance.
When the clouds continue to roll blankets of grey.
Smirking at me as if they've won.
You won't see the sun today.
A sigh escapes from my breath.
And my shoulders dampen in the watery debris of mushy leaves and clothes dripping on the line.
But I might find a spot to notice.
In the drenched garden of green.
A small,
Silvery spiderweb.
That glistens and drips in pearls of iridescent liquid richness.
And a ladybird.
So bright and ruby red.
Finding her way across a leaf.
Or the bird shaking its feathers in ecstasy above.
And the crow that calls forth another downpour.
I might find a space to sit in what is now.
Right now.
And see that there is always beauty.
And not just rain.
Getting in the way of my day.
An invitation to take a breath in through the nose.
And letting it out slowly from the mouth.
And doing this a few more times in your own breath,
In your own rhythm.
Accepting how the breath is in this moment.
It might be slightly short and shallow.
It might be longer.
With more depth.
Allow the breath however it is.
To drop.
The body.
A little bit heavier.
Into the surface beneath.
Allow the exhale.
To soften.
Into those parts of the body that need softening in this moment.
And just continue to allow it.
Perhaps you notice that there are areas of tension.
That resist this invitation.
Of relaxing and softening.
Allow that.
Notice where the mind is.
Perhaps it's very busy,
Chattering away.
Creating plans.
Trying to pull you out of this moment.
Perhaps it's becoming quite still.
As it listens to the breath.
Wherever the mind is right now.
This is an invitation to allow that.
To let go of the resistance of its resistance.
To allow it to be exactly as it is.
Without the need to change it.
And as you continue to notice what you notice,
Allow.
The emotions.
That seem to be moving.
Within you.
Around you.
Perhaps you're carrying something.
Quite present.
Quite here.
Perhaps you're noticing something in the background.
An old story.
Something that feels a little bit distant but is there.
And perhaps there's a sense of neutrality.
A zero point.
This is an invitation to allow it.
With acceptance.
What does it feel like?
To accept what is here right now.
Take a breath in through the nose and as you exhale.
Imagining your exhale is embracing.
Any emotions that are here right now.
Continue to breathe in this way in through the nose,
Slowly out through the mouth.
Allowing the exhale to create space.
Around the emotions that are here.
Around the thoughts that might be meandering in.
What is that like?
What is this experience like in this moment right now?
Notice if there becomes.
Any more resistance,
You'll notice if there becomes a softness.
Or something else.
Whatever there is.
Allow it here.
Accept it here.
Create a little more space for it.
Using your breath.
Noticing that.
The struggle,
The challenge.
Is often when we resist.
We don't want it to be here.
It doesn't suit us or serve us.
Doesn't feel comfortable.
And yet knowing but noticing and naming it.
Allows it to soften.
Creating some space around it.
Allows it a bit of movement.
Like clouds that gently move across the sky.
We see them and notice them.
And allow them to pass by.
Exactly where you are right now.
Is absolutely perfect.
Notice what you notice.
Notice what it's like.
To create a space of acceptance within.
Notice that in this space of acceptance.
Can become a space.
It feels so free.
Expansive allowing all parts of me to be here.
Right now.
And we'll now prepare to externalize the awareness slowly.
That you might like to take a hand and place it on the heart space in the center of the chest.
Breathing in to this space.
Breathing out.
And sending yourself a message.
I accept me exactly as I am.
I accept myself.
Completely in this moment.
I accept.
And love.
All parts of me.
And you can stay here for as long as you need.
Or you can begin to now.
Breathe in a little bit deeper.
And as you breathe out,
Becoming aware again.
Of the physical body.
In its shape.
Sitting in the environment that it's in.
Becoming aware of this environment around.
And in your own time.
Slowly opening the eyes.
