Being a child and connecting to your inner child.
There was a pause before eyes opened,
Where warm toes overlapped warm toes,
And the sheet and pyjama became one.
A sweet smell or some muted music might filter in and there was no expectation of your small body.
The pause,
Let the light flutter in and become a moment greater than all moments.
To be in the waking of a day.
That strive to be the bestest of days,
Just because.
And the pause could be as long as you liked.
As a child.
And here is an invitation to connect.
With your inner child.
At whatever age they might appear to be.
As you close down the eyes and become aware of the vast inner world.
Your vast inner landscape.
In the warm darkness.
So firstly,
An invitation to connect with your breath.
Gently inhaling through the nose.
And slowly exhaling out the mouth.
As you continue to breathe in this way,
Notice how the body softens.
Our different parts of the body.
Might become a little heavier.
A little bit more relaxed.
And as you continue to breathe in this way and connecting to this moment of pause.
This moment that is just for you and your younger one.
Move within.
Find your awareness in your heart space,
In the center of the chest.
Allow the breath to move in and out of this space.
As if the heart space is a tunnel or a funnel.
That has its own way of breathing.
Connecting here in whatever way that means for you.
You might like to put one hand over this space.
You might like to just imagine the breath moving in and out.
Of this space.
You might like to see a silvery white and green light that emanates from the center point of this space.
However it is for you.
Find the connection.
To this space in your body.
And now.
Invite your younger version of you in.
Notice how old they are.
Hold their little hands in your big hands.
Notice the soft skin.
And the small fingernails.
Notice their face.
The shape of their eyes.
The expression on their face.
And let them know that you are here.
And you will never leave them.
Maybe you'd like to give your younger version of you a big warm hug.
Hold them close.
So that your heart merges with their heart.
Breathe in and out of your heart space.
As you hold them close against your chest.
You are the one they need.
So let them know.
That you see them.
You hear them.
And you love them.
Let them know by using your words.
I see you.
I hear you.
I love you.
Let them know that they can stay here in the space of your heart.
All they need is you.
Set them up in a cozy space inside your heart.
And let them know you'll come back to check on them.
By placing a hand over your heart space.
By breathing in and out of this space,
You immediately connect.
Let them know you'll do this.
And now reconnecting to the breath.
Invitation for an inhale through the nostrils and exhale slowly from the mouth.
Sending yourself some gratitude for taking this pause.
And remembering.
That a pause can really be as long as you like.
Take as long as you like.
To externalize your awareness.
And come back into.
The present time-space reality of right here,
Right now.
