Welcome.
Today we anchor into the body and the room we inhabit,
Naming what we feel with clear,
Honest eyes.
Set a gentle,
Personal intention to be present,
To notice,
To show up as you are in this moment.
Presence isn't about perfection.
It's about showing up as you are right now.
Begin by noticing your feet on the floor,
The texture of the surface beneath them,
The weight of your legs,
The stretch in your spine.
Feel the contact of your body against the chair or the floor beneath it.
Notice the temperature of the air on your skin.
Notice the room breathing with you.
Let your shoulders soften and your jaw unclench as you settle into this moment.
Take a breath in through the nose,
Letting it out slowly from the mouth.
Here I am,
Feet firm on the floor,
The room breathing with me.
I name what I feel softly,
Honestly,
And settle into the moment as it is.
Here I am,
Breath is with me,
Inside of me,
Outside of me.
My breath shows me exactly what I need to see.
Here I am today,
In this moment,
Noticing the parts of me that are activated by the world around me.
Here I am with my parts,
Not trying to change them or discard them.
Here I am accepting all parts of me,
Even just for a moment.
I settle softly and honestly into this moment as it is.
Take a breath in through the nose,
Letting it out slowly from the mouth.
Become a little more present than a moment ago.
Presence shows up in small details.
How your back rests against the chair.
The sound of a distant horn.
The humming of the fridge nearby.
Notice these things and let the mind relax around them.
You're not chasing a peak,
You're inviting ordinary life in to be enough as it is.
Take a breath in through the nose and let it out slowly from the mouth.
Mentally name one detail about your body or the environment around you in your mind.
Let it anchor you here.
If and when a thought arrives,
Notice it and let it pass like a leaf on water.
If and when a thought arrives,
Notice it and let it pass like a leaf on water.
Notice what you notice.
Bring the awareness to the breath.
Taking a breath in through the nose,
Letting it out slowly from the mouth.
Notice the inhale and the exhale as a simple,
Steady companion.
If the mind wanders,
Gently return it back to the sensory anchor you chose or to your breath.
Now mentally choose one small action you can take today to stay present.
Perhaps it's checking in with a body sensation before responding.
Perhaps it's pausing before a task.
Perhaps it's noticing a single colour in your environment.
What can bring you back into the present moment?
What can bring you back from thinking,
Ruminating about the past or pondering and spiralling about the future?
What can bring you back?
Choose this now.
Choose it simply.
Take a breath in through the nose,
Letting it out slowly from the mouth.
The day will pull you in many directions.
Let this moment remind you that you can choose what you bring with you.
Notice your presence.
Notice your body in the shape that it's in.
Notice your presence.
Take a breath in through the nose and let it out slowly from the mouth,
Softening the shoulders.
Here I am.
I settle softly and honestly into this moment as it is.
Take a breath in through the nose.
Let it out slowly from the mouth.
And when you're ready,
Open your eyes to step forward with a small,
Simple,
Grounded choice for today.
