As empaths,
We are sensitive to energies around us,
Sometimes so much that it can be overwhelming.
So today we are going to focus on understanding your energy field.
This is the energetic space around you that interacts with everything you come in contact with.
To protect it,
We first need to understand it.
Now let's begin with a simple exercise.
Close your eyes and take a deep breath in and slowly breathe out.
As you settle into your breath,
Start to become aware of the space around your body.
Imagine a soft glowing light that begins to emanate from the centre of your chest,
Expanding outward.
This light represents your energy field,
Your unique aura.
What does it look like?
What colour is it?
How far does it extend from your body?
As you breathe,
See if you can sense the edges of your energy field.
Is it close to your body or does it expand far out?
Notice how this field changes as you breathe more deeply.
How it expands with each inhale and becomes more defined with each exhale.
This is your energy field and it's part of you.
It reflects your feelings,
Thoughts and experiences.
It's unique,
Just like you.
Your energy field is like a sponge,
It can absorb energies from the environment,
From people and from situations.
This is why us empaths would sometimes feel drained or overwhelmed in certain environments or around specific people.
So today I want you to begin to observe how your energy field feels throughout the day.
Notice how it expands or contracts in different environments.
Are there places or people that make your field feel smaller,
Tighter or more constricted?
Are there others where it feels open,
Bright and expansive?
Let's take a small practice right now.
Just close your eyes and feel the energy around you.
Now take a moment to set an intention for your energy field.
Repeat silently or aloud.
I am aware of my energy.
I honour my energy field and protect it with love and awareness.
Carry this awareness with you throughout the day.
With practice you'll start to feel when your energy is being affected and how you can shift it back to balanced state.
