Begin by arriving wherever you are,
However you are,
And just taking a moment to pause,
Letting your body begin to settle into stillness or a slower rhythm.
Feeling the support beneath you,
Whether it's the ground,
Your seat,
Or the earth itself,
Just allowing your body to be held,
To be held,
And taking a slow and deep breath in through your nose,
And an even slower breath out through your mouth.
Let your exhale melt down your spine,
Relaxing back,
And let's do that one more time.
Inhale slowly through your nose,
Exhale gently,
Feeling your shoulders soften,
Your jaw release,
And notice the pace of your inner world,
Not needing to change it,
Just witnessing it with care,
Asking yourself,
What would it feel like to slow down just a little bit more?
Bringing one hand to your heart,
The other to your belly,
Feeling your breath moving through these sacred spaces,
Whisper to yourself,
I am allowed to slow down,
I am allowed to soothe my nervous system,
And I am safe to soften.
Feel the vibration of your voice as a balm,
Tender,
Warm,
Alive.
Let your breath deepen just enough to feel like a small offering of care.
Let your body receive that care.
You are not behind,
You are not too much,
You are right on time.
Only moving as fast as your slowest part,
Slowly begin to invite micro-movements into your body,
Stretching of the fingers,
The toes,
A roll of the shoulders,
A tilt of the head,
A lengthening in the spine,
A slight smile on your lips,
And as you prepare to return to your day,
Take one final breath,
Inhaling ease,
And on the breath out,
Letting everything else go.
You can return to this moment of soothing and slowness any time.
Thank you for your practice.
Remember,
You are magic,
You are medicine,
And you are worthy just by being.
