Greetings and welcome to today's meditation,
A Healing River for Hurting Parts.
Take a moment to find a posture that allows you to feel a sense of ease,
Whether laying down or sitting tall.
Allow your breath to begin its rhythm.
Inhale slowly and exhale fully.
Do this a couple more times until you feel settled in this time,
In this place within your body.
Imagine yourself by a quiet river.
The water flows steadily as it sparkles in the light.
This is a healing river created just for you.
Allow yourself to bring awareness to your heart space and breathe into it for a few moments.
With each breath,
Let warmth and compassion flow outward like ripples across the water.
Now invite the parts of you that carry hurt,
Wounds from the past,
Tender pain,
Grief or even some sorrow.
Let them know that they are safe to come near the river.
Tell them that this water will hold them so gently.
It will hold them sacredly and that it cleanses without force,
That it supports without pressure and that it invites them to release what they are ready to let go of.
And they can do it slowly and gently,
Drop by drop.
They can do micro doses.
It doesn't need to be all at once.
Just observe them as they begin to step into the river.
Notice what happened.
Maybe a gentle current carries away some of the heaviness.
Maybe the water begins to soothe those things that have been aching for so long.
Maybe they just sit at the edge and feel presence of the water.
All is welcome.
There is no pressure to do it any way in particular.
What they need is good enough.
Invite them to breathe with you if they're willing to do so.
Let them know everything here is just a gentle invitation.
They can inhale compassion and exhale pain.
They can inhale courage and exhale weariness.
Let them know that they're not alone.
Tell them you are not alone.
The river remembers you.
Healing flows with you.
And we are here together.
Remind them that this is the healing river for all that hurts them,
All that has been hurting them.
Take one last deep breath right here.
Knowing that this river is always available whenever they need it.
Wiggle your fingers and wiggle your toes as you come back to the here and now.
And just thank your parts for taking this moment to step into the healing river with you.
Bye-bye for now.
