This body scan can be done in the morning, afternoon, or night. At just under 5 minutes you can start to connect with the body and the sensations you feel. It's perfect to do multiple times a day to allow yourself to notice the physical body through sensations. Tuning in to how you feel internally can help ease the mind and help ground your body.

Transcript

We will begin this body scan in a comfortable lying position,

Getting nice and cozy and setting up your space in any way that feels comfortable for your body.

Having the hands at the lower belly is perfect or even along the side of the body,

Making any minor adjustments to get extra comfy.

And as I move throughout each body part,

I just want you to be completely in tune with the sensations you feel.

Not necessarily labeling them,

Just really staying in tune with the feelings and sensations.

I'll invite you to gently close the eyes and we'll begin by taking a full deep breath in through the nose and open up the mouth to let it go.

Full deep breath in and open up the mouth to let it go.

We will begin at the crown of the head,

Noticing any tingly sensation or maybe no sensation at all.

Moving to the forehead,

The cheekbones,

The nose,

And the jaw.

Noticing if there's any sensations at the mouth,

Throat,

Or the collarbones.

Tuning in with the sensations at the tops of the shoulders,

The biceps,

And triceps.

Noticing any feeling or sensation in the forearms,

The wrists,

The palms of the hands,

And the backs of the hands.

Maybe even all ten fingers.

Drawing your attention now to any sensations we feel at heart center,

The ribs,

And the lower belly.

Noticing if you feel any type of sensations at the hips,

The glutes,

The thighs,

And the hamstrings.

Fronts of the knees and backs of the knees,

The shins and calves,

The ankles,

Fronts of the foot,

Soles of the foot,

And all ten toes.

Now envision your entire body as one sensation.

Maybe even identifying the whole body as a color and vibrating aura of sensation.

Take a moment to check in with how you feel as a whole.

And we'll start to take a deep breath in through the nose and out of the nose to reawaken the body,

Wiggling fingers and toes,

And we will gently open the eyes.
