Welcome to this morning meditation to create ceremony with your morning beverage of choice.
This morning beverage may be cacao,
It may be coffee,
It may be tea or another fun creation.
This meditation is intended to be after you have mindfully brewed or steeped or chopped your beverage of choice.
Now as you sit with your cup of beverage,
Bring it up and hold it close to your heart center.
Take a deep breath in and out,
Relaxing your muscles as much as you can.
Loosen your back,
Relax the shoulders and elbows,
Check in with your jaw,
Face,
Forehead,
Hands and loosen as much as you can here.
Now look down at this beverage and connect with the journey it took for it to be in your hands.
Connect with all the hands that may have touched this drink from the people who farmed the beans or the leaves if it's tea.
Connect with the process.
Imagine gratitude and love flowing from your heart down your arms to your hands holding this beautiful cup of liquid.
Now bring the cup to your lips,
Smelling,
Looking,
Using all of your senses and then take your first sip.
Press your tongue against your palate and pay attention to the feel of the liquid entering your mouth.
Feel the warmth,
The thick or light sensations around the mouth,
The tongue and cheeks.
Let the flavors sink in.
Enjoy all of them while you drink.
After taking this first sip,
Continue to breathe slowly,
Long and deep,
Enjoying and savoring,
Focusing on your breath between each sip.
As you take these sips of your drink,
Connect with prayers,
Intentions,
Affirmations for your day.
Allow this to be a moment to fill your own internal cup.
Fill it with love,
With prayer,
With abundance.
Use this time to savor the moment and to continue to keep this presence throughout your day.
Once you complete this cup and you move throughout your day,
May you realize that you have this connection,
This presence,
This internal love and warmth pouring through you into the world.
You are worthy of these moments to create ceremony and gratitude in every step.
