Welcome and thank you deeply for joining me,
HaniB,
For this meditation on grounding and connecting to your roots.
Ideally this meditation is done outside or near a window where you can look out at the scenery around you.
Find a position that is comfortable for you,
Either seated or standing.
Gently straighten your back and relax your shoulders.
Keep your chin slightly tucked down and back,
Yet the gaze looking ahead or eyes closed.
Bring your awareness to where the body makes contact with the ground,
Either the legs and buttocks or the feet.
With each breath you let out,
Visualize your roots beginning to sprout and grow into the ground.
Imagine like a tree beginning with a small root on that first breath and progressively growing deeper and deeper into the ground,
Spreading all around you with each breath you take.
Grow your roots until you can gently wiggle your body and not pull them up from the earth.
Connect with this place of groundedness and become still.
Once your roots have grown deeper and deeper,
Ask yourself what makes up this root system?
What creates your firm foundation?
Feel a sense of safety,
Connectedness and protection from the earth beneath you.
Visualize these roots made up of your values,
Your truth,
The things that light you up,
That bring you passion and joy and fulfillment.
Imagining one or two of these larger root systems that stand out to you.
Perhaps they're a value or a need for connection and belonging.
It can be a desire,
A value,
A hope or a goal.
It can be something tangible or something very distant that feels challenging.
It can be anything as long as it truly matters to you.
Once you've identified it,
Begin to grow that root deeper and deeper into the earth,
Allowing its story to be connected to the soil,
To the ground,
Perhaps spreading out of the ground,
Growing trees and flowers and sprouts of other plants.
Visualize these roots you are choosing to grow.
Feel strong and supported in your foundation,
Centered in your network that connects you to you.
Now bring your attention to the top of your head and the space above it.
Observe your connection to the Sun,
The Moon,
The stars,
The space,
The elements of water and fire and air and ether.
Feel a sense of upliftment,
Lightness,
Of joy.
With the eyes either open or closed,
Gaze ahead,
Not down at a phone or a screen,
Open your inner eye and see your world opening up.
Envision doors to your future easily opening and you being bold enough,
Aware enough to walk through them.
You have everything it takes to stay grounded on your path,
Taking each step with lightness and beauty.
You are protected each step of the way.
Take one more breath then proceed going about your day with each step feeling those roots grounding you and connecting you to the present moment.
To end the meditation place the palms together,
Thumbs connecting in towards the chest,
Bowing the head down and thanking yourself for showing up to do something for you during your day.
In turn you will feel more connected and more in tune with your own true nature.
