Hello dear one,
Welcome to Inner Haven.
I am Megan and I will be guiding you through a somatic meditation to help you explore embodied boundaries.
This is your time to come home to yourself,
To feel your own presence and to remember that you belong fully to you.
Before we begin.
Take a moment to check in with your needs Ask yourself softly,
What might help me feel just a little more supported right now?
Maybe you'd like to adjust your posture or position until you feel at ease lean back against a wall or sturdy surface Gently rock or sway your body if it feels soothing or smell something calming like an essential oil or a candle.
Whatever you choose Let it be an act of tender care for yourself.
These small gestures remind your body that you are safe here and you are cared for.
Take a soft,
Easy breath in and let your eyes wander gently around the space you're in Slowly take in your space.
Noticing colors,
Light textures,
And shapes.
Being sure to look behind you above you.
And below you.
Letting your body know that I am here and I am safe.
When this practice of orienting feels complete to you.
Allow your gaze to soften or your eyes to close if that feels safe Feel the support beneath you whether it's the floor,
A cushion,
A bed.
Notice how the ground always rises to meet you,
Steady and unwavering Let yourself be held Gently bring your awareness inward Begin to notice your breath without trying to change it.
Just feeling it move in and out.
Steady and natural.
Now slowly scan through your body with curiosity.
Where do you feel calm and open?
Where might you notice tension?
Pressure or holding Are there places that feel like they need attention or protection?
There's no need to fix or force anything here.
Just listen.
Your body is always speaking to you in sensations.
Now imagine yourself surrounded by a soft glowing circle of light.
This circle represents your boundary It is your personal space.
Your safe container.
Take a deep breath and picture this circle expanding and strengthening with each inhale.
With every exhale imagine it becoming clear and steady like a warm protective shield Inhaling,
The circle expands and strengthens.
Exhale,
It becomes clear and steady Inside this circle is you.
Your energy,
Your needs,
Your feelings.
Outside the circle is everything else.
Other people,
Responsibilities,
Noise,
And distractions.
Notice how it feels to have this clear loving boundary around you.
Maybe whisper to yourself,
I am safe within my own space.
I honor what is mine and what is not mine.
I am safe within my own space.
I honor what is mine and what is not mine.
If it feels good.
Place one hand on your heart and the other on your belly noticing the warmth of your own touch feel the rise and fall of your breath under your hands Press your feet gently into the ground.
Notice the sensation of being rooted,
Connected,
And supported Your body knows how to protect you,
How to hold you steady.
As you breathe.
Imagine strength flowing up from the earth into your feet.
Open to your spine.
And into your whole being Begin to explore gentle,
Natural movements that come from this sense of strength.
You may feel the need to roll your shoulders back and down,
Opening your chest.
Pushing your hands outward as if creating space around you.
Gently swaying side to side,
Feeling your center stay steady as the world moves Let these movements express what it feels like to stand in your own space.
There's no right or wrong here.
Only what feels authentic to you.
Staying here for a few moments exploring your strength through your intuitive movement.
In this glowing circle that represents your firm boundaries.
Slowly let your movements grow smaller until you come to stillness again.
Take a deep,
Nourishing breath in and a long,
Gentle exhale out.
Rest in the feeling of being fully inside yourself.
Boundaries are not walls to keep others out.
They are invitations to keep yourself safe,
Steady,
And whole.
When you're ready,
Softly open your eyes or lift your gaze Notice the space around you notice the clarity within you Carry this sense of embodied boundary with you in the rest of your day,
Trusting your body to guide you in when to soften and when to stand firm Thank you for practicing with me today.
