Somewhere along the way,
You left parts of yourself behind.
Not carelessly,
Because you had to.
Because those parts didn't fit,
Weren't welcome,
Felt too risky to keep.
This meditation is about finding them again.
Ground,
Sit comfortably,
Feet flat,
Eyes closed.
Breathe in slowly,
Long exhale.
Again,
Breath in,
Breath out.
Feel the ground beneath you,
Solid,
Steady,
Unchanged.
Whatever comes up in this meditation,
You can hold it from here.
Think back.
A time when you were more fully yourself,
Before you learned to manage how you came across,
Before the performance began.
What were you like then,
That you're not now?
Let something come.
Curious,
Playful,
Open,
Angry,
Loud,
Unfiltered,
Soft,
Sensitive,
Unguarded.
Whatever it is,
Just notice it.
See,
Those parts didn't disappear.
They went quiet,
Because at some point,
Showing them felt unsafe.
Maybe they were criticized,
Maybe they were ignored.
Maybe you just learned,
Earlier,
That certain versions of you weren't welcome.
What did you stop letting people see,
And when?
Stay with that.
What did it cost you to leave that part behind?
Take a breath.
Breath in,
Breath out.
That part of you,
The one that went quiet,
It's still there.
It didn't leave,
It just learned to wait.
Is there space for it now,
That wasn't there before?
You don't have to bring it all back at once,
Just acknowledge it's there.
That's enough for today.
One last breath.
Breath in,
Breath out.
You are more than the version of yourself.
You learned to show the world.
The rest of you is still here.
When you're ready,
Open your eyes.
