Helle,
Good morning friend!
Today before the day gathers momentum,
Just take a moment to arrive here… you don't need to know how,
Everything is going to go today.
You don't need to have.
Every answer.
Because for these next few minutes.
You can simply.
Be here.
Allow your body to settle now.
Into whatever position feels natural for you this morning.
Notice the support beneath you allowing your hands to rest.
Begin by taking one slow and comfortable breath in.
And an easy breath out.
Again.
Breathing in.
.
.
And just letting the breath leave without forcing it.
There may be many thoughts about your day ahead.
Things to do,
Conversations that you may have to have or decisions that are waiting for you.
For now,
You can just let them remain in the background.
And bring your attention back.
To this breath.
This body.
This morning.
We sometimes imagine courage as something big,
Something bold and dramatic,
Like a huge leap.
A single moment where fear disappears and certainty takes its place.
But much of the courage we need in our ordinary life is far smaller than that.
It can be getting out of bed on a difficult morning or sending the message that you have been delaying.
Speaking the truth honestly to somebody.
Courage could be trying again after something didn't quite work out or taking just one step towards something that matters to you.
Even when you can't see exactly where it will lead.
You see,
Courage does not require certainty because you can be unsure and still move forward.
You can feel nervous and yet still act with care.
You can carry questions and still take the next step.
Take another steady breath now.
And as you breathe out.
Soften anywhere you notice yourself bracing against this day.
Now bring to mind the day ahead.
Not every single detail but just the sense of this particular day that is waiting for you.
Notice if there is anything that feels slightly uncomfortable,
Uncertain or demanding.
You don't need to solve it right now,
Just simply acknowledge that it is there.
And notice that you are here too,
Breathing.
Present.
And you are able to respond one moment at a time.
You have already lived through days you once didn't know how you could possibly manage.
And do you know what?
Have adapted,
You have learned and changed direction when you needed to,
Yes,
Some things worked out differently from what you expected,
But still,
You found your way into this morning.
You are here,
Let that be enough evidence for now.
You do not need proof that everything will be easy.
You only need enough trust.
To meet.
Whatever comes next.
Bring your attention.
Into the body.
Feeling the ground beneath your feet or the surface that is supporting you.
Notice your spine,
Your shoulders.
Notice your chest rising,
And falling.
Imagine courage,
Not as an idea.
Imagine courage as a quiet steadiness within your body.
Something that is there that you can return to.
With your next inhale.
Allow yourself to sit.
Or stand a little more fully.
Not rigidly,
Just present.
And silently say.
I can meet this day.
Let the words settle.
Another breath.
And now say inwardly.
I do not need to know everything before I begin.
And another breath.
Silently saying,
One step is enough.
Now just staying with the breath.
For a few moments.
Now ask yourself gently,
Where might courage be useful today?
Allow whatever comes to your mind.
You might find it may be something very ordinary.
Where might courage be useful today?
May be a boundary.
A conversation you have to have.
Beginning something.
Ending something.
Asking for help.
There is no need to try to manufacture an answer.
Just notice what appears.
Where might courage be useful today?
And now ask,
What is one step I can take?
Not the whole journey,
Just one honest step.
And imagine yourself taking it.
Noticing what you are doing and where you are.
Perhaps you can picture yourself pausing beforehand and taking one conscious breath and then moving.
Not because all the fear has disappeared.
It's because something matters enough for you to move alongside the fear.
Now come back to the feeling of your breath.
Mourning is always a kind of threshold.
The day has begun but.
.
.
Much of it is still unwritten.
There is space here.
You will make choices,
You will respond to things that you could not have predicted.
You may change your mind,
You may discover that something you worried about was a lot easier than you expected.
And if something is difficult.
You can meet that when it arrives.
You don't have to live the whole day all at once.
For now,
Breathe in.
.
.
And breathe out.
Allowing your inner words to be simple.
May I trust myself enough to begin.
May courage meet me when I need it.
May I take this day one step at a time.
Now begin to notice the room around you again,
The sounds nearby.
The temperature of the air and the weight of your body.
Perhaps.
Roll your shoulders or stretch if it's available to you in whatever way feels good,
And before you continue with your morning.
Choose one final thought to carry with you.
Courage does not ask me to be fearless.
It asks me to keep meeting.
My life.
Take one deeper breath in,
And let it go.
And when you're ready.
Open up your eyes.
Good morning,
Friend.
Go gently.
Take the next step.
Have a beautiful rest of your day.
Go in peace.
Namaste.
