Yoga Nidra is a practice of deep relaxation and inner awareness. It guides you into the hypnagogic state — the threshold between consciousness and sleep. In this practice, you'll journey through the body’s primary energy centers, or chakras, to restore balance and energetic flow. We begin by settling into stillness, connecting with the breath, and setting an intention. A body scan helps anchor your awareness before gently directing attention to each chakra, promoting balance and calm throughout your entire being.

Welcome to this Yoga Nidra practice for energy balancing.

Yoga Nidra is a powerful practice that allows you to access a state of consciousness between wakefulness and sleep.

The body rests deeply while the mind remains aware,

And in this state the mind becomes highly receptive,

Allowing you to direct your awareness and achieve specific goals.

In this practice,

You will be guided through a deep relaxation process that will help you access and balance your primary energy centers.

If you feel yourself drifting into sleep,

Gently guide your awareness back to the sound of my voice.

If sleep fully takes over,

Trust that it's part of the journey,

And with time and practice,

Remaining awake will feel more natural,

Allowing you to deepen your connection to this experience.

Take a moment to settle in now,

Lying on your back with your legs extended and gently apart.

Allow your arms to rest naturally by your sides,

And feel the weight of your body supported by the surface beneath you.

Welcome any movements or adjustments that will help you feel completely comfortable.

And if you haven't already,

You can gently close your eyes.

Notice the natural rhythm of your breath,

Feeling the steady rise and fall of your chest grounding you in this moment.

Become aware of any sounds you might be hearing.

There's no need to focus too hard on what the sound is,

Simply let your ears hear it.

In Yoga Nidra,

We set an intention,

Also called a Sankalpa.

This is a way to guide our awareness in the direction that we want it to go.

Setting your intention is like giving your subconscious mind a direct message,

And so as this practice is about balancing the energy centers,

You might want to choose an intention that aligns with this goal.

Some examples are,

I allow my energy to flow with ease.

My body,

Mind and spirit are in energetic alignment.

I trust my natural rhythm.

Feel free to use one of these,

Or choose something that speaks to you today,

And don't worry about finding the perfect one,

You can always choose a different one tomorrow.

Once you have your intention,

Repeat it silently to yourself three times to plant it into your mind.

Now,

Take a deep inhale,

And on your exhale,

Release all effort.

We now begin to gently rotate your awareness through different parts of your body with a body scan.

As your awareness moves through your physical body,

You begin to connect with the subconscious mind by withdrawing from external sensory distractions.

Allow your attention to move effortlessly from one area to the next,

Bringing a sense of presence and relaxation to each part.

There's no need to force your focus,

Simply follow my voice with your awareness.

Become aware of the stillness of your body.

Become aware of your body in the room.

Bring your awareness to the crown of your head.

Feel a gentle wave of relaxation spreading across your forehead,

Softening your right eyebrow,

Then your left eyebrow,

The space between your brows,

Your right eye,

Your right cheek,

Your left cheek,

Your lips,

Your jaw relaxing completely.

Unstick your tongue from the roof of your mouth,

Relax your throat,

Your chest,

Navel,

Pelvis,

Lower back,

Middle back,

Upper back,

The back of your neck,

The back of your head.

Guide your awareness to your right hand.

Feel relaxation spreading across all your fingers,

The palm of your hand,

The back of your hand,

The right side of your body,

Back of your thigh,

Right knee,

Back of your knee,

Right shin,

Calf,

Heel,

Sole of your foot,

Top of your foot.

Relax all your toes.

Bring your awareness to your left hand.

Feel a wave of relaxation flowing across all your fingers,

The palm of your hand,

The back of your hand,

The left side of your body,

Back of your thigh,

Back of your knee,

Heel,

Sole of your foot,

Top of your foot.

Relax all your toes.

Sense the whole left side of your body.

Now bring awareness to the major groups of body parts,

Your whole right leg,

Both legs together,

Your whole right arm,

Your whole left arm,

Both arms together,

The entire back of your torso,

The front of your torso,

Your entire head,

Your entire body as a whole.

Rest in this awareness.

Notice the natural rhythm of your breath.

As you inhale,

Notice the coolness of the air entering your nostrils.

As you exhale,

Feel your body gently releasing into the surface beneath you.

Simply observe without trying to change your breath in any way.

With each exhale,

Allow your body to relax just 10% more.

We will begin a journey of visualization,

Gently moving through the primary chakras.

Bring your awareness to the base of your spine,

Your root chakra,

Your foundation and the center of stability and safety.

When your root chakra is balanced,

You feel secure in your body,

Your life,

And your place in the world.

Visualize the soft,

Glowing ball of light at the base of your spine.

The light is warm,

Like the feeling of sunlight on your skin.

With each inhale,

Feel the light grow brighter,

Gently warming and illuminating your root chakra.

As you exhale,

Release any stagnant energy that may have built up in this area over time.

Now gently bring your focus up to just below your navel,

Your sacral chakra,

Your center of creativity,

Pleasure,

And emotional balance.

This chakra is deeply connected to your passions and your emotional well-being.

When your sacral chakra is balanced,

You feel open to life's experiences,

Creative expression,

And emotional harmony.

Visualize another warm,

Glowing light in this area.

As you inhale,

Imagine your light becoming brighter,

Gently illuminating and warming your sacral chakra.

Use your inhale to grow the light,

And use your exhale to release stagnant energy.

Sweep your awareness higher to the space between your ribcage,

Your solar plexus chakra,

The center of your personal power and confidence.

When this chakra is balanced,

You feel confident,

Empowered,

And aligned with your true self.

You trust in your ability to make decisions,

Take action,

And embrace your personal strength.

Visualize a bright light in this space,

Expanding with each breath and gently warming your solar plexus.

Guide your awareness upward to the center of your chest,

Your heart chakra,

The home of love,

Compassion,

And connection.

When this energy center is balanced,

You feel open,

Compassionate,

And able to give and receive love freely.

Visualize a bright light in your heart.

With each inhale,

Feel the light expand,

Warming and creating space for love to flow freely.

Bring your focus upward to your throat,

Your throat chakra,

Your center of communication and self-expression.

When this chakra is balanced,

You express yourself with clarity and confidence and communicate with ease and authenticity.

Visualize a glowing light in your throat center.

With each breath,

Feel it grow,

Nurturing this energy center and allowing for clear,

Mindful expression.

Gently bring your awareness to the middle of your forehead,

Your third eye chakra.

When balanced,

You feel deeply connected to your intuition,

Experience mental clarity,

And gain insight beyond the physical realm.

Visualize a glowing light here,

Expanding with each breath,

Warming your third eye center,

Clearing mental fog,

And unlocking deeper insight.

Bring your awareness to the crown of your head,

Your crown chakra,

Your connection to higher consciousness.

When this chakra is balanced,

You feel deeply connected to your spiritual self.

Visualize a bright light at the top of your head,

Growing brighter and warmer with each breath,

Expanding your awareness and connection to something greater than yourself.

Now gently bring your awareness to your sankalpa,

The intention that you set at the beginning of this practice.

Repeat your sankalpa silently in your mind,

Allowing its meaning to resonate deeply within you.

On your next inhale,

Visualize the light from all your energy centers illuminating,

Shining brightly as one unified force.

Feel the balance you've cultivated,

Grounding and centering your entire being.

Keeping your eyes closed,

Notice any sounds in the room you're in.

Begin to invite gentle movement into your body,

And when you're ready,

Gently open your eyes.

Your yoga nidra practice is complete.

Thank you for trusting me to guide you.
