Hello and welcome.
My name is Lexie Bevington and I'm here to support you on your journey of self-discovery.
Today we'll explore a gentle meditation exercise designed to help you settle effortlessly into a calmer,
More comfortable version of you.
By taking just a few minutes to become present in this way,
The rest of your day will naturally become easier,
More relaxed and less stressful,
Without you having to consciously do anything else in particular.
If this sounds good to you,
Let us begin by getting comfortable and then start by taking a deep breath in and letting it go.
And now take another breath and release it softly and gently,
Don't force it.
Now this time,
As you take a breath in,
I invite you to gently close your eyes and direct your attention inwards.
And in your mind's eye,
I invite you to picture a pond in front of you.
And that pond is in a clearing in a wood.
And you look beneath your feet and you see the ground,
Ground that is covered in a soft blanket of moss,
Interspersed with small,
Delicate tufts of grass.
It's dewy and a soft,
Deep green.
You can actually see it glistening as the sunlight starts to make its way through the trees and gently reflects off the pond.
And as you look up further,
You notice the trees around the pond.
It's late September and the leaves are a myriad of different autumnal shades.
There's a slight breeze on one side of your face.
And as you look slightly higher,
You notice the dappled light filtering through the intertwined branches.
It's late afternoon and the temperature is perfect.
And then suddenly you notice a leaf that catches your attention as it detaches from one of the trees and it starts to float down.
It's about 20 feet above you and it's floating very gently on that breeze.
It's going from left to right.
Notice the colour of the leaf.
Notice the shade of it somewhere between the green,
The red,
The orange,
The brown.
And you watch it gradually getting closer as it floats again from left to right to left to right.
And as it starts to get closer to the pond,
You begin to fixate on that leaf.
There is a moment of anticipation as you see it heading towards the water softly on the breeze.
And then it finally touches the surface.
And as it touches the surface,
It radiates a little ripple in all directions.
And you watch as the delicate ripple begins to radiate outwards towards you.
And you realise that in another few seconds that ripple and the concentric rings behind it are going to touch the edge of the bank right where you are.
And as you drop your gaze,
You look at the edge of the bank waiting with a soft feeling of anticipation.
And you watch as those ripples gently touch the edge and it feels strangely satisfying.
You notice you feel complete somehow.
You feel calm.
You feel grateful.
You feel safe.
You feel so grateful to be in this incredible,
Tranquil environment.
And you look around and you notice the rustling of the trees,
The sun glistening off the water.
And you notice the dew sparkling on the grass like miniature diamonds.
And then with a soft smile on your face,
You take another slow,
Deep breath in.
And you let it go and gently open your eyes.
And then I invite you to give your shoulders a little shake as you reorient with the room.
That's right.
Thank you for joining me in this meditation exercise.
Please take a moment to appreciate the time you have given yourself here today.
And I invite you to carry this sense of peace and tranquility with you as you continue throughout the rest of your day.
It's been really lovely to spend this time with you.
Namaste.
