Begin by finding a comfortable position,
Whether you're sitting or lying down.
Allow your body to be supported by the surface beneath you.
Now gently close your eyes or soften your gaze and take in a nice slow breath in through the nose and a slightly longer exhale out through the mouth.
Take a couple more of these breaths in your own time.
Breathing in deeply and then releasing the breath.
Just feeling yourself arrive in this moment.
Now allow your breath to return to its natural rhythm.
Just let the body breathe itself and just sit here with what is.
There's nothing to change,
Nothing to fix or figure out.
Simply sitting with what is.
Notice the body.
Notice the breath.
Notice the sounds around you.
Notice the thoughts moving through your mind.
Not pushing anything away,
Just simply being.
Thoughts arise and they pass away as do sensations.
Sounds continually arise and fade away.
Everything appears and disappears on its own.
Now begin to notice the awareness that is noticing.
There is something in you that is aware of the breath,
Aware of the body,
Aware of your thoughts and the sounds around you.
Just see if you can rest in that awareness.
Awareness is like the sky.
It's open,
Spacious,
It is vast.
And everything else,
Thoughts,
Feelings,
Sensations,
Sounds,
They are like the clouds moving across the sky.
The clouds come and the clouds go,
But the sky remains.
You are not passing clouds.
You are the sky.
Rest as the sky.
Into awareness comes a sound.
Into awareness comes a sensation and a thought.
Awareness allows everything.
It does not resist and it does not claim.
It simply notices.
If the mind wanders,
That's okay.
Just notice that the mind has wandered and gently come back.
Back to resting in awareness.
Awareness is always here.
It is open.
It is untouched by whatever passes through it.
It is a place where you can rest.
There is nothing you need to become.
Nothing you need to achieve.
And nothing you need to hold on to.
Just simply rest in awareness.
Now in these last few moments,
Let everything come.
Let everything go.
And just simply remain as the awareness that is always here.
When you feel ready,
Start to come back to the breath,
Noticing the air moving in and out.
Notice the weight of your body in space.
Notice the room around you.
You might start to wiggle your fingers and toes.
Open your eyes and carry this sense of spacious awareness with you into the rest of your day.
