Hi,
I'm Laura.
I'm a licensed clinical social worker and today I'm going to guide you through a meditation called Sunset on the Water.
Find a comfortable position.
And allow your body to settle.
Take a slow breath in.
And gently breathe out.
Imagine yourself walking toward a peaceful shoreline at the end of the day.
The sun is beginning to set.
The sky is filled with soft shades of gold,
Pink,
And orange.
The water stretches out in front of you.
Small waves gently moving towards the shore.
You begin walking slowly beside the water.
There is nowhere you need to go.
There is nothing you need to accomplish.
Feel the ground beneath your feet.
Notice the gentle breeze against your skin.
Listen to the water moving toward the shore and then returning again.
Take a slow breath in.
And breathe out.
With every step,
Imagine leaving behind a little bit of today's tension.
You don't have to think about tomorrow.
We don't have to replay yesterday.
Right now you are simply walking beside the water.
Ahead of you,
You find a comfortable place to sit and you look out toward the horizon.
Watch the sun slowly lowering toward the water.
There's no need to hurry it.
The evening unfolds in its own time.
Imagine allowing yourself to do the same.
You don't always have to rush.
You don't always have to be doing something.
For this moment,
You can simply be.
Listen to the waves.
Feel the breeze.
Watch the changing colors of the sky.
Take another slow breath.
Imagine breathing in the peacefulness around you.
And as you breathe out,
Let your body soften.
The sun moves slower.
The colors become softer.
Everything around you seems quieter.
Allow yourself to stay here for a few moments.
Nothing to fix,
Nothing to figure out,
Nothing to do.
Take one final look at the water and the beautiful sky.
Remember that peaceful moments don't have to be perfect to be meaningful.
Take a slow breath in.
And slowly breathe out.
Begin noticing your surroundings again.
Move your hands and feet.
And when you're ready,
Gently open your eyes.
