Generate your meditation seat.
Create your seat as balanced,
Centered,
Alert,
And simultaneously relaxed.
Blink your eyes to a close and begin by bringing your attention onto your breath.
Allow the breath to lift you up and out from any thoughts or emotions swirling around in your headspace.
Throughout this meditation discover comfort in the simple movement of your inhale and your exhale.
Experience your breath as an anchor point back to a relaxing,
Equanimous place within yourself.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Become aware of your body seated on this earth.
This body,
Your body,
Your very own at home and nurtured by all the abundance that exists on this planet just for you.
And you relaxed and held in this skin with these bones tethered to a physical center,
A refuge,
A shelter that exists within yourself.
A safe space for you to breathe and live and be exactly as you are.
And in the course of this ancient,
This tried-and-true practice of meditation,
You may notice the mind drift off somewhere,
Wandering into new territory,
And gently,
Softly steer yourself back to the rise and fall of your breath,
Bringing yourself back into the here-now moment.
You centered,
Relaxed,
Present,
And alert right here in your meditation seat.
If you begin to notice the mind playing any kind of games,
Running scenarios,
Or replaying old films,
You,
The centered witness that you are,
Use the opportunity to shift your vision back towards calm presence,
Watching the thoughts float by like clouds,
And you,
The vast blue sky,
Open,
Clear,
Evanescent,
And free,
Just like the breath,
Clouds forming shapes and then clouds dissolving.
Witness the dance of high and low as thoughts swirl up and around your head space,
And you,
The quiet,
Peaceful eye of the storm,
Restful in the center of the cyclone of thoughts coming up and thoughts dispersing.
This restful awareness opening up space to loosen your grip on overthinking,
On over-controlling,
You choosing to drop any recurring tapes playing in your mind,
And from this relaxed,
Open,
Center,
The thoughts have nothing to grip onto,
And they drop you,
Freeing up space within you for organic,
Childlike creativity,
Naturalness to emerge and arise up and out of you,
Feeling your centeredness in this new spaciousness,
The power of being still,
The beauty of not reacting,
Of patience,
Commitment,
And calm determination.
Allow your breath to expand,
Breathing in just a little bit deeper,
And breathing out just a little bit longer.
Take a final breath in and out.
Namaste.
