But and Be.

These planet meditations are designed for you to sit with the beautiful elements and life in all its glorious creation on our earth as you quiet yourself to be here right now.

I invite you to close your eyes,

Beginning to feel your breath softly flowing in and out of your lungs.

Becoming aware of the softness of your breath,

Feeling it entering and leaving your whole body as you simply sit or lie.

Maybe this is the first time today you find yourself here,

Remembering to stop,

Pause.

Noticing your breath now and the physical sensations in your body,

Your own body here,

Resting with whatever you notice and if you can't feel anything at all,

Just noticing that.

And now breathing gently in your own natural rhythm.

And gently noticing where your mind travels and then with the next breath coming back to the flow of your breath in and out of your body.

As our mind wanders,

Our body awaits with compassion for us to return.

So maybe smiling gently now as you allow your mind and body to come together right now with your breath.

Breathing smoothly and if today you find breathing difficult,

Simply noticing the sounds you can hear.

Maybe you can hear your breath or the movements of your body or a sound in the room where you rest or outside.

Whatever your ears hear,

Just noticing,

Not following the sound.

And now if you wish,

Bringing your attention back to the breath and maybe now you can begin to feel the movements in your body as it fills and nourishes itself with air.

Noticing the physical sensations in your body,

Bringing your awareness as you slowly scan down through your body,

Breathing with ease as you do so.

What's the air like on your face?

Maybe it's warm or cool.

And now bringing your awareness down through your neck,

Through your shoulders,

Arms,

Your hands.

Noticing the position of your hands as you rest here now and back up your arms into your chest,

Bringing your attention to the front of your body and round to the back,

Spreading out between your shoulder blades.

And now down to your hips,

Into your legs,

Past your knees,

Your ankles,

Down to your feet.

Your feet that lie or rest on the ground beneath,

Feeling their contact with the earth.

Maybe you can even notice your toes.

Are they touching or apart?

Bringing your full awareness to the whole of your body now,

Coming back up into your body and just resting here with your breath and your body.

And now with the next breath,

Bringing into your mind's eye the image of a field of flowers.

Maybe it's a place you know or have visited.

Maybe it's an image you've seen in a book or a film.

Maybe it's a sunny glade full of wildflowers,

Whites and pinks,

Yellows,

Blues and greens.

Maybe it's a mountain hillside with bright yellow gorse.

Maybe in your field of flowers there's just one kind of flower.

Perhaps it's a farmer's field,

Abundant with rows and rows all waving in the wind.

And now perhaps seeing just one of your flowers,

What shape is your flower?

What colour?

How tall is your flower?

Maybe it's a gentle stem with delicate leaves flowing in the gentle breeze.

Or maybe it's a sturdy giant of a flower,

Head high,

Lifted up into the sky,

Just seeing it,

Hearing its rustle as the wind catches its leaves.

And now,

If you might,

Listening to the sound of the wind and then hearing a new sound,

The sound of a bee buzzing amongst your flowers.

Until the bee alights on your flower,

Its delicate wings moving as it busies with its work,

Pollinating,

Travelling,

Following its instinct with no cares or what ifs,

Just living its life,

Finding its flowers and flying with such humble grace from flower head to flower head,

Determined,

Focused,

At one with life.

Now as you rest here,

Breathing in your own natural ebb and flow,

Hearing the sound of the humble and beautiful bee,

Seeing its furry body and its miraculous stripes,

Listening to its gentle vibrations as it works and sensing yourself a part of this story of the bee and this flower,

Sensing that deep down inside you're part of this pulse of life,

Even of this bee and this unfurling flower and sensing the movement in your own life and your own steady,

Determined focus,

Moving through your days,

Carrying the energy of the bee deep within and seeing your flower now and knowing your story is intertwined with your flower,

Breathing the same air,

Warming from the same sun,

At peace in your own field of flowers.

And now gently drawing away from your image and bringing your awareness into your body and to the surface that's supporting you,

Feeling the pressure of your soles on the floor perhaps or the soft surface supporting your back and as you sit,

Beginning to notice again the sound of your breath and other sounds around you and when you hear the chime,

Slowly opening your eyes,

Bringing your attention into your fingers and your toes,

Gently moving them.

May your week be filled with the life and colour of your bee and its unfurling bud.
